I'm grateful that the Third Tradition only requires of me a desire to stop drinking. I had been breaking promises for years. In the Fellowship I didn't have to make promises, I didn't have to concentrate. It only required my attending one meeting, in a foggy condition, to know I was home. I didn't have to pledge undying love. Here, strangers hugged me. "It gets better," they said, and "One day at a time, you can do it." They were no longer strangers, but caring friends. I ask God to help me to reach out to people desiring sobriety, and to, please, keep me grateful!

That a weird feeling after being in in active addiction for so long being closed of for so long in isolation with your gurad up none stop always looking for the next person to get over on and always thinking some one is trying to get over on you
And then we walk into the rooms for the first time every body coming at us with hugs and hand shakes and monsters and red bulls and cigarettes it catches off guards to the point to were we are like what do they want not realizing cause we are still in a daze and a fog from years of alcohol and drug abuse and unhealthy life style. All these new found friends just want to help us the newcomer stay for the meeting and that turns into hey what do you got going on tomorrow I will pick you up for breakfast which turns out to be a whole day event of getting your story and feeding you food and energy drink hanging around other people's in recovery by the time you relize it you have gone a hole day with out using or drinking. By the time you get drop off its late but you have a little hope that just maybe if I got 1 day maybe I can get 2 days
