Discectomy surgery in two month looking into a course to help the healing process and get me back in the gym asap
so my background is ive been very active since being a kid and enjoyed all sports and competing its always been in my nature.. first true love sporting wise was rugby union played that at under 12s and 15s in school then 6th form palyed 7s too was good at it too but kept getting injurys so i drifted away from that and replaced it with playing football (which i also get injurd playing ironically) for an hour or two usually 2 or 3 times a week, at the same time cycling around 50 miles a week for a couple of years up and down hills to and from my then new girlfrieds house lived in another town about 8 miles away from myself in lake district so lifestyle, love and age had me fit as a fiddle and very athletic i did weights on and off but not properly just here and there, clueless really.
Anyhow now ive my own little family home just over two years ago set up a home gym as you do, i had a good physique and wanted to build on it and add some overall mass, then i started seeing my lil bro whod been weight training a year or so longer than me getting considerably bigger than me.. word to self "cant have this" so i decided to hit the weights with gusto and perceverance and i got myself down to the gym for what i couldnt do at home effectivly so bring on lots o protein shakes really good diet determination etc. I decided starting with some basic bulking compound type exercises till effect was noticable then got more complexed and varied workouts over time with guidance of my brother who would train with me once or twice a week and a few gym regulars also giving advise, around 14 months into true training and fighting a loosing battle against my little bro in size but looking good decent (disadvantage possibly to do with the organon sustanon course he was well into) i decided it was time to venture into my first encounter with gear so i kickstarted a test E 300mg a week cyle with 3 weeks of good sourced Anadrol 50s (hard core i know but hey) or at least that was the idea for a 10 wk course with pct of nolva and clomid for 4 week.
however lifes a bitch and with me being such an active individual all my life and having no look at all it was low down time from my GP the doc suggested i had a genetic disposition to the likelyhood of lower back deamonds (dad bodybuilt also and has had same problem only he was older when it got him)i had developed over the years and in particular the last 18 months or so a bad back which i tried to ignore as just a "bad back" for far too long heavy weights and playing football all the way up until i had to reality check due to the considerable and fast progressing pain before i got any deeper into my now useless cycle, the docs arranged to MRI scan my lower back as i was getting by this time severe pain and muscle spasms in my lower back and nasty pain down my right leg was put on all types of tablets diazepam gabapentin diclofenac dyhydrocodeine get the idea not good times.. docs news " you have 2 herniated discs one not bad however 1 is past usefull (between the lowest vertibre and coxis) and has been squashed (you could say flattened as i seen my scan pics) and this needs surgery in form of a disectomy to remove exess disc material or possibly all of it and fuse / false disc put in its place to relieve the pressure on my sciatic nerve from the bulging disk pushing out my spinal column..surgery oh shit... obviously no options than to stop the course i was on immediately just a week in and i was loving the drol'S instant and unholy strength gains and pumps but this couldt help with pain though so bye bye first course .
so now im still going gym mostly for cardio and light maintainance avoiding strain as much as is humanly possible to make more attainable my future prospects.
ive now seen a spinal specialist im going to have an op in 2 to 3 months he said light exercise is good as long as it not painfull as post op it will make for better recovery time and i dont like sitting around glooming so once i heal to the point i feel adequate to start on my bodybuilding journey again i shall do so. Obviously extensive physio will be set by my spinal surgeon and his physio team for x amount of time after op to train specifically the weakened area of my back first and foremost but then im looking into once thats sorted gettin maybee a few month natural progressive bulking again if poss? Then looking into doing some anavar and deca durabolin obviously with a background test E maybee do it not to long after surgery if do'able what do you think? From some extensive research i have done on anavar in particular the use of anavar for spinal issues such as trauma to the spine and its ability to help this area recover, it may be a good option for me for its increse in collagen synthesis and its other wonderful attributes now moneys not a problem as i know its expensive and also im thinking of adding deca will have a positive effect on the long term healing of my back post surgery?
Has anyone ever had similar problems and if so has anyone got any advice for me? Once i do decide on what course to do when all is hopefully well ill be a happy man im no pro but i do my homework and know a thing or two, i do know all about PCT and how harsh deca can be for shutdown but i need to make this frame of mine strong and well lubricated coz its gonna need to be as i wish to do this for years fingers crossed, surgeon said i should be like new again once surgery has healed and i want to surpass all expectations and come back with a bang lol watch out my local gym

AnonI had my C-5 and C-6 rupture completely and had artificial discs put in. They fused the C-4 thru C-6. I have a titanium bracket w/6 screws holding this Bionic man together! This was back in '07, I'm back killin these young buks @ the gym;-)
So I lived with the ruptures for about 10 days thinking I slept on my neck wrong. Finally after seeing my Dr and being given Morphine pills that never worked I realized this was serious. Turned out being very correct. After the MRI showed my ruptures I was in surgery less than 4 hrs later. Fuck I still get the chills when I think of the pain, BRUTAL! Immediately after surgery I had zero pain. I did however feel so weak I couldnt even hold up my head without my neck brace. Talk about humbling. I asked the nurse if I could go home when I woke up and she said I wasn't ready. I asked what I needed to do to go home. She said walk 100ft and have a BM. I said have PT meet me here @0800hrs the next morning and to bring me something greasy:-)
I was home 24 hrs after my surgery. It's funny I was so angry that this had happened. I had just gotten married a month before. I used that anger to focus on rebuilding. I started just walking around the block. That first walk almost made me cry. I felt so helpless and completely vulnerable. Each day I made myself walk further and further. Finally with the help of DR prescribed TRT(follow up labs showed I had Low T). I soon was strong enough to run. SO I ran and ran and ran and ran. The process I went thru to be able to run took me over 6 months. So when I finally did run I didn't want to stop. I felt like ME again. Alive and free. Eventually I was running 10k's 2x a week. I started getting very lean and my muscles started getting much stronger. So I decided It was time to hit the GYM. At this point I was a year post surgery. I was shocked at how weak I was. The effort it took for me to lift was like moving a mountain. But you know what? I did that shit!! I fucking owned it, no bullshit, no more self pity. Here I am almost 6 yrs later and Goddammit I feel incredible.
Yes I owe a lot to AAS. It gave me the mojo I had lost after my surgery. Without it who knows maybe I would still be walking around the block feeling like a prisoner in my own body. I am proud of who I am and what it took to be me. I wouldn't change it for nothing. Shit like this will either build character or make you shrivel up and die. Life isn't easy brudda, it's all up to you:-)
If you ever need a hand figuring out what AAS will work I am more than happy to help. As would damn near every member on Eroids. You are in the right place, we got ur back JB517!!!!
This gives me hope mate and im glad to hear from someone who understands just how harsh a real bad back can be on your physical and mental state especially when you were alwys fit and strong.. i am however made of tough stuff and dont wallow in pitty just get my head up get the op over and done with, recover and then ill be back in the gym with crazy enthusiasm, thanks for reading the post its a life story lol, obviously my backs recovery means alot to me and i want to get back on track to where i want to be ASAP, what would be your personal choice of AAS for my back weakness post op, bear in mind it could almost be considered as a first course again due to my last courses hasty demise i am aware im not goin to be ready to run anyhing for some time but this gives me much time to recover, study the forums and seek advise also to stock the necessary cycle stack i will decide to run.
many thanks pushinw8 once again is see a bright light at end of the tunnel im only 27 after all.
I had a discectomy C5-C6, lost 80% strength on right upper body pre surgery, post surgery 5 years down the line I'm getting there.
Post op hit the gym for 3years to get mobility and strength even on both sides. Still experienced a lot of pain at that point then ran a heavy deca, test and hgh cycle cleared up 99% of the pain. Have to use a Manta Ray for squats as it presses on the cage, but other than that all good.
I wanted to start earlier but knew I'd just injure myself further, in retrospect I could have started the hgh straight away.
sounds like you had some real bad times mate definatly puts into perspective my back problems as the old saying goes " theres always someone worse of than yourself" and i believe that although your now "getting there" you almost certainly had it worse than i have it presently and youve still coming out swinging (or pushing maybee a more adept description) im glad to hear your getting there th3joker all be it a time consuming process but im willing to take as much time as is necessary for my post op wound to heal fully and then get mobility/ strength back as physiotherapists will construct me workout routines for the area needing attention.
So deca was run high with test and hgh and you prob could have ran the hgh from the start, im a bit weary of hgh prob just coz of horror stories as with all preformance enhancing drugs seems to be a widespread thing, i am eager to introduce to my body compounds that will quicken my recovery i suppose ill just have to take it as it comes and then i can get on the necessarys asap obviously with caution.
Take it easy but not to easy ey mate
thanks for your post
