So is that big white drum where they sleep then - does it not get boiling hot in the day?

Mac12769's picture

They use those for shelter from rain/wind/cold. During hotter times, they all sleep outside. So they hadn’t been cleaned in couple weeks.

So I may of asked you this before, but how do you protect them from other wild predators like Foxes, coyotes and things like that? Can't those things get through the fencing if they really want to or do they just not bother with them?

Mac12769's picture

While nothing is predator proof, we have high fencing, security motion lights, and 2 of the pens are close to the house. And of course easy target range. We also have 2 large dogs that are fairly good at alerting. But actually the goats themselves are good alarms as well. They will let out a certain cry and huddle together when under some outside stress. All in all, we haven’t had much problem there bro. But I’ve also shot my fair share of coyotes that wondered too close. Lol We hear them on occasion.

He’s the latest one. Was a total surprise as Mom was soooo small. Didn’t realize how close she was due. Came home late morning, and that little guy walked up to me. Made my day. Smile

He has a great natural affinity to people. He comes right up everytime. It’s a great trait benefit.
