As a recovering alcoholic, however, you have a larger role to play. Therefore, you must be unselfish. And you mustn’t fail yourself or your loved ones throughout your recovery process. It is essential to be honest to restore your life. Through honesty, you learn acceptance. And acceptance is the first step to taking charge of what you have lost due to being powerless. Being true to yourself is the only way to attain absolute control of the problem – alcoholism.

We have to remember to not just to be honest to others but ourselves as well.

Living sober is just not drinking
It's holding ourselves accountable for our actions and motives.
Learning what it means to be a man or woman of character.

It starts with what's inside us.
Not how the world has treated us.
But how we treat rhe world

Time to get some head strength together mate Yes 3 Its never gonna happen if its just something you would like to happen in an 'ideal world' but then you go to pieces after a few days sober when you see a bottle of drink in the supermarket. You can tell yourself 'Just tonight then I'll sort it out tomorrow all you want - But it Ain't gonna happen so STOP kidding yourself!!! Us Praying for you isn't gonna change a God Damn thing either, TIME for you to sort this out properly and focus on your training or whatever gets you excited and in turn well again DO IT FOR YOU

Great post. That is something that everyone needs to adhere to, not just us recovering from addiction. It is my belief that this world would be a lot better off if everyone would follow the 12 steps.

Yes agreed. We all live selfishly here and there. We don't really live by principles. It's what we can get or do what we can to not lose what we have.
We need to just be decent to others.. And ourselves
