Hope everyone Is well 5 months sober and 1 year from my accident that almost took my life... was sober on my motorcycle and on my way home from down town and a car blew a red light hit me and left me for dead..

Just finally a few weeks ago got approved to go back to the gym and it's been a struggle..... was left with busted helmet and a concussion, shattered ribs, road rash and a bulging and torn disc.

Since then I gained about 40 pounds from being bed ridden... it's been so hard to lose this unhealthy weight!

Any advice on what I can do to get rid of this unhealthy weight and fatty liver disease?

I've been watching what I eat and been going back to the gym finally but it doesn't seem to be seeing results!

I get the burn more calories than you take in but this is the most I've ever weighted and the fattest ive ever been at a whopping 212lbs please help with some solid advice....

And no I'm not eating a bunch of shit food sugar and breads and pastas...

For some reason I can't get the fat off and refind my abs again! :(

Easy Does It~! Bro, so glad you are here. Thanks for sharing this. I take Milk Thistle for liver support, I go to good health store, & buy the strongest dose(NOW Silymarin 300mg). Not sure if this treats fatty liver specifically.
I use the scale in mens locker room once a week, i record # with my phone. Take pix occasionally.
I would suggest avoiding roids until you get like 3 years clean. I did.
You didn't mention recovery but you are in the Recovery Lounge. Here's my speech: Really glad I worked on running, cardio, & lifting for my health. Life = Prayer, Reading Recovery literature, learning to live the 12 Steps, Sponsorship, and community Service. I attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings too. Thanks.

Definitely stay away from drink which I'm sure you know 5 months sober is amazing and a blessing . Try to make sure your drinking at least a gallon of water a day for the fat around the midsection. Smaller meals and more of them . Also lots of green fruits and vegetables when you can

No Problem buddy! Great to have you here ...... Smile

5 months is Great pal, you have to stay strong though and keep hitting the gym because there are still some testing times ahead yet I found. What will keep you sober is training consistently, and the fact that if you go back to the drink again you will literally ruin everything you have tried and worked so hard for. Because it will not just be 1 night - it will be the next 3 Days.

In terms of getting to a healthy weight again and losing the fat you need to watch the main forums and see what other guys are doing and asking, there is probably a post per day asking about this. Luckily the fatty Liver can be reversed just by eating healthily and staying sober and it will heal itself, there are many supplements too that help such as Choline Bitartrate, TUDCA, Milk Thistle, Inositol etc. I have done an extensive forum post on all the supplements you can take to help your liver and kidneys whether on or off AAS.

I use to be a motorcycle rider myself in my earlier days which luckily I never came off, I got rid of it when a friend of mine got taken out by a woman driver at a T-junction and almost died. He was an extremely good rider who was far better than myself, he had to have both hips replaced and will have to continue to do so every 10 years until he dies and had to have a huge blood transfusion just to keep him alive. If you value your training mate don't get another one because next time you may not be so lucky and be wheelchair bound. I have lost track of how many guys I have spoken to on here who have also been taken out by other drivers and not been able to train for at least 2 years and have hit major depression because of it - many cannot even train properly ever again. Did you manage to get the disc in your back healed again?

Hi, I sympathize with you brother, it's very hard, but I see that you are a strong person. If you have fought so fiercely to survive and get back on your feet, you will definitely overcome your extra weight. Of course it takes time, it takes discipline, it takes a person by your side who will support you, I hope you have all that.

I am not an expert on weight loss, but I know a little bit about what it means to struggle with being overweight and not seeing results. I think you need a strict diet to improve your liver, in other words, forget about fatty steaks, eat only chicken or turkey meat preferably baked or steamed, eat plenty of fiber, eggs in moderation, forget about potatoes and large amounts of cereals, fruits and vegetables you can eat...and also don't forget to eat your last meal 4 hours before bedtime and of course plenty, plenty of water.

There are many different diets, you can find them on the Internet, but the main thing as you know discipline and calorie counting. Good health to you

Do cardio on an empty stomach in the morning than focus on high reps with lower weight and take short breaks in between your sets of 12 to 20 reps. Maybe see if you can cut down the carbs a little ? God bless you and congrats on the sobriety. I'm still struggling but I am 3 months sober. Thank you for reading!
