As a person that has attempted suicide several times in my dark past, it’s important to reiterate that it’s ok to talk about the thoughts. In the past I went through severe bouts of depression that lead to the attempts although I would have never dreamed that I would actually execute the idea. The fact is I fought with the thoughts over & over until finally it became a reality that I felt hopeless & felt like everyone else was better off. I was also suffering with alcoholism & drug addiction that no doubt influenced my decisions. Life is worth living & there is hope. If you’re battling the thoughts or emotions of suicide, please reach out to someone!!

I remember calling their hotline once and they put me on hold. For a looooooong time, until I just gave up and disconnected. Then I started crying until I realized that the situation was darkly humorous: even the damned suicide hotline didn’t want to acknowledge my existence. That cheered me up somehow.

Lol... I swear I did the same thing one night except I called the VA suicide line. Dang I thought only the VA didn’t care LOL
It’s also sad when I wanted to get clean everywhere had a month to four month waiting list for a bed. Like really!! Most are either dead or worse off by then & decide against it. Sad really

Id like to share a couple of resources too if thats ok? And one for Ireland. Hope thats ok
http://www.pieta.ie/contact-us
Pieta is an emergency service, free, amazing people... resource for all affected but particular forcus on those at risk and survivors but also good for families.

Anyone who is worried about family should watch this interview with the parents of Milly Tuohy an 11 yo girl: https://www.rte.ie/player/ie/show/the-late-late-show-extras-30003017/108...
(Could get it on youtube if it gets removed from rte player)
If you think suocide cant or wont affect you or yours then you ABSOLUTELY need to watch the interview. (I know a person who emergency councelled a 5 yo survivor... there are NO RULES to suicide.

Direct conversations that actually name suicide are a good first step in helping people:
http://www.hse.ie/eng/services/list/4/Mental_Health_Services/NOSP/Training

It is the most minute of steps from suicidal ideation to the act itself. Anyone who has had those most vivid of movies play in their head..... well now is the time to talk/get help.

Sorry big man, only seeing this message now.
Yeah man, blunt I am (Im working on that), but bully I promise I am not.

Never apologise to me buddy, no need, particularly if i said something that rubbed the wrong way (no homo), which I tend to do.

Respect bro.

He’s not a bad dude at all... maybe misunderstood at times, but I believe for the most part his intentions are genuine & good.

Yes, yes of course!! Thank you for sharing brother! I had never heard this sad story, but it broke my heart & definitely reflects the pain of those poor parents!
