Post cycle training

ad

Wondering if anyone has a favorite 'go-to' workout they like to use when they have finished their cycle to help keep as much of there gear gains as possible? Just finished 8 weeks of 531 rest-pause style training as found in wendlers 2nd edition with some extra assistance work for arms, calves etc in the 10-15 rep range. This worked very well for me with both good gains in strength and size (as expected). Had a week off & im looking for some ideas. Im tending toward something hypertrophy based to change things up & try to retain muscle size.

I used the 5x5 route. Kept 90% of strength gains. From what I read if you carry ontraining like you were on cycle, the gains you made would fall off in a matter of weeks

In what way? Over training?

I would assume so because when on cycle your body has a somewhat anticatabolic effect. If I wrote it all here you would tl;dr but when off cycle I always obey the old 48 hours rest and fuel per muscle group rule and usually when coming off my cycle I tend to switch to 3 sets of 8-10 reps at 75-80% because im looking to maintain at that point while im running pct.

Yeah standard pct protocol & diet in order. Got good results from wsfsb 3 a few years ago. Guna give that a run again.

agreed with grice53, raise the weight and go fewer reps. stay away from cardio for now, get the diet in order, and get plenty of sleep. i'm assuming you're doing some form of pct, right?

I mean this was my first cycle and Im down 4-5 lbs after 3 weeks but it looks like Im losing water weight because lines are coming out more. But I am doing mostly drop sets. I don't know if it's just a mental thing but it seems like my strength is drastically dropping so trying to keep up volume to get the pump.
