On cycle vs off cycle training
ad
I'm just curious as to how people train when they are on cycle vs when they are off cycle. For instance do you chase the pump and go for higher reps and volume on cycle and train heavy when you get off? Been trying to figure out what is best I've heard a few different opinions.

I try to keep it the same off or on but when off obviously the intensity and rest periods won't be the same
training should be similar. changing your training because your off cycle is a very common mistake i see people make. one thing that may need to change is your overall volume may need be reduced depending on your recovery abilities. that might be a few less sets each workout or an extra rest day each week.
Ok that's good to know makes sense .thank you!
I train the same way, meaning same types of rep ranges and exercises, i utilize all rep ranges in a workout, but i the lowest i go is 6, but up to 20. But on cycle I might do like 20 sets for back, while off cycle i might do 14. So all i do is decrease the volume. Sometimes on cycle ill hit lagging muscle groups twice a week, like ill do chest and a little tris, back and a little bis, then an arm day at the end of the week. Or ill hit chest hard on monday with like 16 sets or so then hit it again thursday with different exercises, higher reps but only maybe 8 sets. Off cycle everything gets hit just once a week, except calves ill still do those 2-3 times a week and abs.
Hell ya man good shit thank you.
Off cycle I'm pushing myself harder than on cycle. Not necessary heavier, but harder. On cycle I become a bit lazy cos no matter what I do I still grow. The only thing I do off cycle is that I train each body part once per week. On cycle I train same body part 2-3 times per week cos obviously I can recover much quicker.
Thanks for the advice. Thats the same thing I do on and off cycle as well. Just fuckin sucks coming off, a few dudes at my gym are on pct as well all sad as fuck like me haha.
I'm no vet around here but I train as hard as I can off or on. When I leave the gym breathing heavy and drenched in sweat I feel great knowing how much it's gonna hurt in a day or two. High volume vs high weight, either or works more importantly is getting to the gym with consistency. Even when your off cycle, and you lose some size and strength. It's similar to cutting and seeing your strength and reps drop, you keep pushing toward your vision. Find what works for you but more importantly do the work.
Ya that's what I figured everyone is different I do respond better on cycle to high volume and when I get off heavier sets lower reps just curious how the vets around here do it.
Kind of depends on where you're at physically as to how much size you want to pack on. Even then, everyone responds differently so best to just try them all out.
