lets talk about SETS

ad

DROP SETS-drop sets is a technique for continuing an exercise with a lower weight once muscle failure has been achieved at a higher weight

STRIP SETS-you do an exercise with a weight that you can do only x amount of times, then drop to a weight you can only do x more times, and on and on.

BURN OUT SETS-For instance, do 10 bicep curls using 25-lb. dumbbells. Set them down and immediately grab the 20s. Do 10 curls, put them down and get the 15-lb. dumbbells. Do 10 curls, get the 12s. Do 10 curls, get the 10s, and finish your last set of 10.

REST PAUSE SET-Rest Pause training is flat out brutal! It is mean to allow you, as an athlete to go past what you normally would have on a given set. You begin by reaching failure on an exercise. Once you have accomplished this, you will rest a few seconds and then continue the set until you reach failure again. The key, however, is to rest as shortly as is possible.

SUPER SET- are essentially two exercises performed back to back that target opposing muscle groups, namely one agonist and one antagonist muscle group. Examples of such muscles are the biceps and triceps, hamstrings and quads, and chest and back.

DANSTA123 SET-pick a exercise as you would with your desired weight by 8x rep range come "rest" minute drop and give me 10 push ups/sit ups/burpies.

feel free to add more sets to the line up or custom set as you please.

Ha what about Monster Sets. Say you are doing Chest. Do incline bench with X amont of weight, go to failure. Then move straight away to flys with X amount of weight to failure then flat bench with X amount of weight to failure. Oh yeah baby that shit hurts.

Looks like you got it well covered dansta, drop sets and rest pause get used a lot in my training Smile

I use westside barbell's training techniques when im trying to gain strength so Maximal Effort Method and Dynamic Effort Method sets can be added.
The type of sets listed by dantsa are great as part repetition method if you train westside style.
