injury mid cycle

ad

So what do you do if you hurt yourself mid cycle ? I hurt my shoulder pretty good...should I pct it... Or should I stay on and work other muscles and hope its just mild injury ?

Good suggestions below. Continue your cycle. Decrease weight when working affected region. If u have pain stop. Use ice massage to affected area during lifting. After lifting, use ice gel pack, or whatever you have, for 20 minutes to affected region. I had a freezer in weight room where i lifted, so thats why i say that. After lifting, use a TENS unit for 30 minutes to affected area. You can find one new on line for 40.00 USD. I also used DMSO topically, prior to lifting. Ibuprofen prn pain dosage per directions on bottle. Maintain adequate hydration.

Agree with TRON...stick with light weight bench press for a couple weeks...also take a 2.5lbs plate(hold with middle finger and ring finger) and slowly work ur supraspinatus tendon by inverting your thumb (pointing down to ground) and raising ur arm up and down. Touch ur thumb to the anterior lateral aspect of your quad, then raise and lower slowly about ten times....

That's really a personal call. You could stay on and wrap it, and push through it. Or you could not work that muscle. Or you could abort and pct. Personally the only injuries I've had in cycle were meniscal tears, and I usually just wrapped it and fought through it. If you think it won't further deteriorate the joint, go for it. As always take precautions, and the second you think something's not right, ditch it.
