how often do you train the same muscle group

ad

I was looking at my leg measurements and realized my calves are to small for my body i usually train legs as a whole but my gym doesn't have much for calves and I think my leg workout is long enough already I split my muscle groups into three workouts taking one day off in between for rest I was considering adding a day just for abs and calves but I've seen good results so far I worry that 9 days would be to long before hitting chest again right now I wait 7 days but if I focus on calves it would make my leg workout go over 45-60 mins if they had their own day I could really focus on them and abs more to since i put that in leg day to but only do 4 sets of 25 I know its only 2 days but just want a second opinion but then maybe those 2 days could help me guess I'll have to try a month and see

I used to neglect my calves as well man it became a real weak spot for me
I am now training them every 2nd day after workouts and trying to grow them, they are looking a lot better

start jumping rope for cardio. Trust me it works for building calfs

3 times a week seems a bit much maybe when on cycle but I'm not on anything right now

Full body everyday 2 weeks,
2,3 days off,
then every muscle twice a week for 2 weeks
2,3 days off
reapeat.

I do not believe Theres such thing as overtraining when your giving body the fuel it needs.

I do calves 3x a week, it really helps. I can only do back and chest once a week, but I do legs 2x a week. Biceps i do 3x a week lol just for the pump. My biceps are pretty big so I see no need to workout less

I try to get each body part at least once every 5-7 days. A lagging body part like calves you could throw in anywhere without too much time added and you could do it a couple times a week. Just add 1-2 sets to failure somewhere in between your rest for another exercise. If you want the change just have to make up your mind and fit the work in, maybe drop 1 exercise from a part that is way ahead of the rest, and replace it with calves.

I hit abs/calves on every non-leg day. They're lagging and that's the only way it gets mine growing. Sets of 20....then drop sets til fully pumped.
