+ 1 Cure for Lower Back Pain/Discomfort
09-01-2012, 07:46 PM This is essentially a quick cure that if done daily, will easily get rid of any back pain.
Symptoms: Lower back burning sensation, almost like a pump, when standing or walking for long periods. Hamstring tightness and lack of RoM during stretch.
Cause: Most commonly from Glute Deactivation due to sitting, etc.
Solution: Lay on chest, have one leg bent at 90 Degrees, while keeping both hips on the mat, push the sole of your foot directly up against someone's hand who is applying pressure. Do this for 20-30 seconds, and then resist them pushing down as hard as they can. Should feel it right in the ass cheek. If feeling it in the calf, don't have the toes pointed up. If feel in the hamstring, make sure that your legs are still parallel to each other and that your one leg that the focus is on is not shifting away. Repeat this process 3-5 times, before switching legs. Do this daily, to ensure that your Glutes are properly activating and taking most of the weight of walking off your knees and lower back.
