A Fruity Question?

I was talikng to this lady about diet today. She tells me she is in weight wathchers, She proceeds to tell me about the point system ww is based on, which i was a lil familiar w/, and then she tells me that 10 years ago she was in the same program lost weight(put it back on though i guess)and says the program is a lil different now. She said fruit no longer counts as points. I knew that plain veggies didnt count as there points, but fruit?

The way I understood digestion, fruit is a simple sugar carb? But she was sayin that she usually has a banana for a snack before bed. and she still lost 2 lbs that week. I can eat grapes and strawberries till there's no tomorrow... Can anyone shed a little light to me as to why fruit would be ok for weight watchers? She said now they can have all the Fruits and veggies they want and it doesnt count as any points. Any ideas?
