+ 2 WHEY PROTEIN IS RAPING ME

ad

Whey protein powder has gotten stupid expensive. Does anyone have any tricks for bringing the cost down a bit?

I even tried going straight to an industrial supplier to buy whey isolate in bulk. They quoted me $15/lb for a 30 lb bag of plain, unflavored whey isolate. Once you add shipping, you're damn near paying retail anyway.

Usually I just hunt for deals on DPS Nutrition and other sites and stock up whenever I find a good price, but damn... this stuff is basically gold now.

Anyone found a better way to buy whey in bulk without getting absolutely smoked on the price?

If you have a place like a United Grocery Outlet or something like an overstock grocery store sometimes you can find deals on some odd flavors that don't sell well. I picked up 3 tubs of six star fruit loops flavor for 12.99 a tub

You can usually get great deals on poor boy supplements. I also have ChatGPT set up to do hourly monitoring for. Whey protein isolate. <$80 for 5 lbs.

didn't know you could do that. is this some kind of addon?

Scipeno's picture

No, you can ask it to monitor things for you, you just have to work with it overtime to tighten your parameters for the search, for example, not sending you updates for products that are out of stock.

Casein is a bit cheaper if you don't mind missing a few aminos. I cut back on protein powders. I limit it to like 2 scoops a day. Replaced it with cottage cheese and greek yogurt.

Costco is my go-to, for powder but sales are few and far between. Last month I did pick up 40 pounds of Tyson frozen chicken breast for under 60 bucks. I keep an eye out for the .97 Death stars. The Saudis own most of our farmlands and China owns our pork and whey protein production, so we need to start eating like Atlas or our lifestyle will become extinct. Maybe if Arnold was allowed to be president, then things could be different. I am sorry that we have failed our youth in so many ways

I do Costco also for protein. Also their steak is really good. 5 pack for 65$ cut each of them in half for a 7-8oz strip

Amazon does ONs 10lb bags for $145.99 delivered. If you do the Subscribe and Save thing, you get an extra discount. That's about the best deal I found.

I usually can find deals for around $120 for 10lbs off of sports supplement stores like DPS. But earlier this year i did get a 10lb bag of NOW isolate for $140 on Amazon... that deal disappeared fast

Believe it or not Walmart.

They have a lot of good options, I love levels and they usually have it on sale for about $35 or so. You can pick up clearance items about once a month. Just got 5 tubs of muscle milk professional 50g protein on sale $15 a tub with 21 servings each. Great options for supplements and proteins. Good protein bar selections, barbells, quest, etc. they sell legendary products too, I’m a fatty for the protein pop tarts

True. Currently im running Revolution Nutrition Whey that i got for about $100 for 10lbs. Decent stuff kinda thick

Muscle and strength runs a sale on optimum nutrition gold standard like once a month. $150 for 10 lbs BUT their 5 lb container is 74 servings compared to most other companies behind around half that for 5 lbs. usually end up around $1 serving for pretty quality whey. If you like BSN Syntha 6, they usually run that on sale (right now 10 lbs for $76) so 96 servings for $76. Reasonable as it gets these days

Actually sounds like a great deal i'll check it out

M&S does have good deals, but please listen to me, DO NOT GET THE NUTREX WHEY!!!! Its bad, very bad. Rancid and metallic. Syntha 6 tastes great but the macros are a bit "heavy"

I wish I knew this before I bought it 3 months ago, I got the cookies n creme & almost puked from it.

LMAO!!

I got that flavor too. Opened the tub like wtf is that smell. But my dumb ass still mixed up a shake, thought I’d been poisoned.

At least the m&s return procedure is pretty easy

Invest in the good stuff brother. Optimum nutrition actually tastes good in my opinion. I have two scoops of double chocolate in a shaker with ice at least once per day and I actually look forward to it.

If you get vanilla flavored it is easy to add to meals like oatmeal, cream of rice, etc.

Edit: I thought you meant whey was raping your insides. Should have read further. Yea this shit rapes my wallet too. Although deals do pop up on Amazon and at Costco.

I feel like I’m either getting fucked in the ass at the grocery store or fucked in the ass at the nutritional store.

I know the feeling! Next trip either lock Randum dude back in the closet or understand he has a hidden agender when he asks you to get something off the bottom shelf

No fuckin way. That's insane. Probably fresh as hell too.

Mback76's picture

I would 100% rather that if I had that option. There is actually a huge Mennonite pop in the city im in. Weird to see them in the middle of a coastal town but I might have to look into that.

We have em ALL OVER the UK lol

I think you're confused. What you're likely dealing with is menintights non Mennonites buddy. Huge difference

I was referring to Aldi Cocksucker!!

Thank you, Brother!

Optimum Nutrition from Sam’s is 5.2lbs for $75. Bout the best price I’ve found, really. True Nutrition has multiple discount codes for 10% off and you get another 10% for subscribing to auto ship, bringing it to around $13/lb iirc. It’s definitely ridiculous.

Seen similar cost for same container at Costco (I don’t have Sam’s near me)

Ever look into egg protein? With the price I mix the two so I'm not bleeding cash. Both are chalk full of amino. Isloate and egg mixed

5percent4life's picture

Absorbtion time and percentage isnt worth it with egg compared to whey
