No carbs immediately after workout?
ad
George Farah said in a seminar that ingesting carbs right after workout will killed your GH level. He said our GH level is raised when we awake in the morning and right after workout, and its best to consume some protein immediately and then wait for about half an hour before taking a complete meal. Is it true that any amount of carbs or sugar can affect our GH level? Need some advice bro, thx!

This is a great seminar, I listened to it about a year ago and began implementing this concept. After a year I would say it possibly helps a bit, I notice I don't store quite as much fat when eating loads of carbs while bulking. It's hard to pin point it to this exact practice. I did notice I passed a plateau after a few months of starting this but again, it's hard to say if this was the specific change that assisted me.
I spoke with one of my professors that has a PhD in Endocrinology but he couldn't give Me a specific answer. His response was, "this has not been proven one way or the other."
The conclusions I have drawn are: like so many other things, everyone is different so what worK's for me may not work for you. If it does work it's just one piece to the puzzle, bodybuilding requires a plethora of details, the more details you get right the better your machine works and in turn there's more potential to synthesize muscle tissue.
Guess I'll have to try it myself to see if it works for me. Thanks bro..
Idk about this either I believe it depends on your goals bulking or cutting. If I'm cutting I won't consume carbs for an hour post workout but bulking I'm doing carbs pre and right after. To each his own on this subject theirs hundreds and hundreds of debates about right or wrong with post workout carbs. Then again they say fat completely stops your natty gh pulse and carbs slightly. So again you decide off what works best for you and your goals
I'm currently bulking n on cycle, I simply consumed as much carbs n protein as I can. If post workout carbs killed your GH level, does it mean all your training will go in drained?
No lol your good man dont even worry about that honestly. Just worry about training, eating and sleeping
RustyhookerYup! Whey..50gram post workout. 30-45 mins after whey carb/protein meal
Idk, i mean the dude is an unbelievable trainer. But i always take in some fast acting carbs with my protein shake. It replenishes the glycogen stores you depleted during training and also spikes your insulin levels which in turn makes the body shuttle all of protein and carbs out of your blood stream into your muscles as it wants to normalize your blood sugar.
One thing I've learned is everyone has their own theories, Farrah might believe this, but another great coach like dennis james or charles glass might believe the opposite. And they both have built some of the best bodybuilders in the world.
I always take some whey n banana after workout too, it works well for me. Guess I'll have to give Farrah's theory a try to see if it'll worked better. Thanks bro.
thanks for the link i am going to go check that out myself.. very interesting
You're welcome bro!
