I will stop. I know it’s probably annoying but this site is fantastic. I’m a big 100% Cocoa Dark Chocolate guy for its health benefits but didn’t realize Cocoa has Cadmium so these list are a snapshot of all the info.

Shit it doesn’t allow copy and paste.

NAC the best is Life Extension, NutraCost was a Top Pick but has been discontinued but NutraBio is very similar capsules but the Nuticost powder is available.

I just threw away about 300$ in new supplements that are bullshit. If my girl sees it I’m gonna hear shit for months. She told me why you wasting so much money. They probably selling you laxative. Hate when she’s right hahaha

Hey guys I just purchased a year’s subscription to a lab that but supplements off the shelf and independently tests them and provides a 100% honest scientific result. If any on you guys or PEZ Dispensers need to know about a specific supplement or vitamin or a specific Companies supplement I will be more than happy to help you out. It’s the least I can do for all the help of topics I post. It’s the least I can do.

In my opinion, the use of blends is clearly a marketing ploy. By making the supplement ingredients sound more exotic can make the product sound much more appealing and increase its perceived value. And importantly sounds like it could work more effectively.

So I'm a supplement freak, always have been and this doesn't surprise me at all. This has been going on for many years now. I knew that Now company wasn't one of those shady supplement companies though as they are a good quality, family owned supplement company. I've dealt with them for years.

Musclemem's picture

Even NOW is BS. Just because they targeted one supplement makes question them even more. Like I said I will stick with 3 companies I know are legit.

Wow that's crazy

Unfortunately, yes I can believe it. These so called supplement companies are some of the biggest scams out there.

Mak I’m going back to the basics. Multi Vitamin Krill Oil and D3. Plus my b12 and C shots. Other than that I’m just going to start getting better foods and get my nutrients the correct way.

I had a whole drawer full of supps. Tossed all that shit away. Eat a well-balanced diet is the best way to go. I was in for my check up recently and asked my doc about taking some supplements. He looked at me and smiled and just told me to eat a well balanced diet with lots of veggies.

That’s what I’m going to do. Even they were FDA approved don’t mean shit. FDA kills more than Covid every year lol. I will just stick hunting for my hormone free meat and fishing for my wild fish and
Grow a nice garden this coming year. Probably hell of a lot cheaper and rewarding then getting sucked into a BS supplement. I don’t even read magazines anymore because an article gets your attention then 5 pages in you see some BS advertising for a protein or something else so wasted time on lies. That sucks I used to enjoy the mags when they were real.

Sadly, this is the norm. The self improvement, vitamin & supplement industry is the largest growing and earning sector in the world, representing trillions of dollars. Given the lack of regulation and sourcing of both compounds & related information the industry is rife with corporations paying for their own studies, claiming 3rd party non-biased results. Given how much money we are worth as a demographic, it is no surprise that companies sell us underdosed, tainted, poorly produced supplements given what the market space is worth, and grows larger each day. What we do is becoming more mainstream. We truly need more transparency in this marketplace.

Musclemem's picture

Absolutely! I know of 3 great supplement companies which are a little pricey but I know they are legit. Once I posted this picture on the Toniiq page of twitter they refunded all the money I spent on supplements. They are trying to shut me up. Screw them. It’s not just about me. It’s about being dishonest to people trying to live a healthier lifestyle. With their greedy mentality they think everyone is similar. Wrong I don’t care about the money I care about people being told the truth. Integrity and common sense is not so common anymore.

Claims made by supplement companies are not approved by the FDA so they can get away with this stuff easily. Some independant lab did the same thing for protein powders a while back and man were the results bad. Was a big topic on the BB.com forums. Some of the top / most popular companies bs-ed how much actual whey they were putting in their protein supps.. Ever since then I only buy my whey protein isolate from Now Foods .. BUt even Now Foods isn't all squeaky clean. Some of their products, like their Ashwagandha was tainted and was causing people terrible side effects, liver issues, but that might have to do more with the 3rd world countries where its sourced from and their processes rather than Now Foods alone.

Musclemem's picture

Yeah I know but to see it really sucks. Without seeing it we still have home but now the home is gone. Fuck the FDA they REALLY can’t be trusted. I guess it’s just back to the basics. Multi Vitamin, krill Oil and good food.

That's quite Shocking!!! I thought supplement companies had strict guidelines they had to adhere to and are regulated so they can't rip people off with underdosed products?

Mind you some of the Shit I've had off Ebay has proved otherwise - Ordered some Milk Thistle once that was anything BUT milk thistle. Took one capsule and it made me feel ill for 2 hours afterwards, didn't even look or taste like it.

The supplement industry is far too huge for the FDA to regulate it all. They only really review a supplement company if they are being flagged by its customers or other agencies. They work on a really small budget with a limited amount of people and resources. Even companies that were putting banned substances with products that got recalled by the FDA from a certain period, they found more than 2/3rds of them still on the shelves, still containing the same banned substances 6 months after recall. Before 1994 they were a bit more stricter on supplements and these supplements were subject to more scrutiny.. But after 1994, due to alot of pushback from the supplement industry, the FDA had to pass a law that made it alot easier for supplement companies to put shit on the market and not really have to go through as many loops.

Furthermore the FDA doesnt really care if the supplement companies are lying about the amounts of legal product within a supplement or falsified numbers.. They more or less care if a supplement contains banned or illegal ingredients. Alot of the time supplement companies wont disclose on any label if there is a banned ingredient ofc.

I know I’m being an idiot for wanting to believe ads and company propaganda. Like all these companies claim to have 3rd party testing and claims of the purest ingredients. Like Toniiq appears by all means to be a quality company.
