A great supplement for lowering lipids while on cycle!!!

ad

Policosanol is a phytochemical. Recent studies have shown that this supplement can lower total cholesterol and LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein also called bad cholesterol). This supplement is non-toxic and can in fact take the place of statins. Statins have many adverse side effects. The main side effect being the damage to the liver. Even though studies conclude that liver damage rarely occurs with statins. The possibility is still there. Compounded with the fact that many AAS users, use oral compounds that can lead to a very toxic concoction for the liver. Here is an article that outlines a study done on non-insulin dependent-diabetes mellitus and hypercholesterolemia.

seems like a semi legit research study. one question that I raise though is based on the principle that the participants were all non insulin dependent diabetics. it states they benefited but what was the science behind it? could it have benefited them in some way that it wouldn't actually work for the average Joe or better yet someone that's very healthy, exercises well and has a good diet that does steroids? it also doesn't provide full research methods and processes. it also states that diabetic drugs may have been used in some.

it's a good article and thabks for sharing. it very well could have some sort of place in assisting the balance of lipoproteins but I won't be running out to buy this first. there are numerous other methods and supplements to help with this. I actually posted a study on guar gum and it's potential benefits for this reason, check it out if you're interested.

You bring up very valid points. I use policosanol while on cycle at 40mgs a day. And my lipids come in well within normal range. And even lower. I have had my blood pressure at 118/64 while taking Tren a 700mgs/week mast p 700mgs/week test p 500mgs/week with var at 50mgs/day. So this could very well be a case by case effect. The studies are still inconclusive. Many of the studies that have been done have been done on animals. Not many on humans. There was one case where the FDA wanted to pull it from the shelves because they were considering labeling it as a statin. I have dig and find that article. As soon as I get the chance I will update this thread with that article.
