Tren A/Test E weight gain on calorie deficit?
Hey guys first off a little background, 27yo, 5'8" ,193lbs 16% BF. I have done a couple cycles in the past, two test only cycles and one test and dbol stack, been about 3 years now since I've cycled.. I'm currently prepping for my first NPC physique show. Been on prep for 9 weeks now and went from 216lbs down to 189lbs in the first 7 weeks or so on diet and training. . Got blood work done about two weeks ago and my test levels were low so coach told me I should jump on 50mg eod of Tren A and 250mg e3d of Test E.
I started this cycle 8 days ago and within the last 2-3 days I have slowly started gaining weight, (about 4lbs) which before I was steadily dropping weight. On a very strict diet, 200-225g protein, 50-60g fats, and 40-60g carbs and hitting 1500-1800 calories per day. Also doing 1.5hrs of cardio every day.
Do you think the weight gain is some water retention from the cycle? I know with the tren there shouldn't be much retention but it's better to ask then not. All your thoughts and opinions are welcomed and I thank you in advance.

if you have a coach, listen to him and ask him questions like this. thats what you pay him for. his advice and opinion should be held above anyone on a forum.
if you just started the cycle a few days ago a little bit of weight gain is ok and normal. it should normalize over the next week or so.
Typical effect with Tren at the beginning. Forces lots of water via enhanced glycogen loading into the muscles. Will slow down when they fill up so to speak. On those macros/calories it's unlikely to be real weight. Be careful on the low carbs. Tren can make you feel pretty nasty on low carbs. I wouldn't never drop below 130g and that's at a push. Also weird you're running long ester test. Prop would seem more appropriate in terms of stable blood levels and ester matching.
Rustyhooker250mg test e3d for a show is watery too. Maybe he posts pix, how long til show and show prep...last 4 weeks
I still have about 10 weeks til show. Will switch to prop when time gets closer
Rusty has a good point. You could drop the test to 125mg twice per week and then eventually run prop at around 75mg EOD/40mg ED. Less water that way on the test for sure and if you have enough pin points for ED pinning exact same time each day then I'd be doing that on the tren a & test p. That way you get nice and stable blood levels. Good luck.
I'll take that into consideration. Thank you
RustyhookerCool. There's also a group for stage prep if needed. The dropdowns up top... groups.
I wasn't asking for show prep help but asking opinions on why all the sudden 4 days into my cycle and I'm gaining weight on a calorie deficit diet. But thanks
RustyhookerI'm currently prepping for my first NPC physique show
Your statement! And if you're in the last 4 WEEKS and hitting your test doses you'll be a water bag. If you dont understand chems, get a coach. If you lose because you're not informed then its on you.
Thank you for all your help and insight.it is appreciated bro
I understand that but I was just giving insight on why I was cycling and dieting. I have 10 weeks until show. Also I do have a coach. Not trying to be smart ass just saying my concern is why j started gaining all the sudden so soon on a cycle.
Mate he's just being a helpful member of the community pointing you to where you may find some useful information and can talk to others who are prepping and do that for a living. Perhaps you could have found your answers with more information specific to your situation (prep).
Totally understandable and I thanked him for it
Thank you for your input

Fuck fish!!!! lol
Hate fish
Haha yea it sucks bro. About to change to lean ground turkey
How far are you from your show?
About 10 weeks
hmm, your carbs are kind of low, for that far out. But I think you will be fine when you switch over to test p. when you get closer to your show. You're probably putting on some water from the test e.
My carbs are low but my body doesn't react well with carbs lol. If I go up to 150g+ I tend to gain weight fairly quickly. Also my coach wants me to lose as much fat as I can right up front so that the last 4-6 weeks I'm crushing on my diet
No, I get that I am the same way. I have a show in June. I am 5'9' 205lbs 14%BF My macros are 3400cals, 300g protein, 200g carbs, 90g fat. approximately. I have a coach that has been doing shows forever and he has me on this until 3 months out. He told me if you drop your carbs too early you will peak too early and its a pain in the ass to try to maintain low carbs. He told me most people can't do it. At such low carbs you get depressed and your mind plays games with you. And you will look really flat for the show even when you 're carb for it.
I understand that bro but if I had carbs that high I would be gaining weight like crazy. Even having around 2500 calories and 150g carbs it's hard for me to cut weight. From my coaches experience he says if we do it this way with some carb cycling some weeks then I will be able to have cheat meals every week and it won't affect me. I guess everyone does things differently
I would defiantly follow what he tells you to do.
I agree brotha
Don't quote me on it however I've had a few different people tell me that like primo, tren will allow you to keep building muscle in a caloric deficit so if that's the case here it'd make sense.
Yea that crossed my mind as well but with it only being 8 days in, could it be possible to be gaining muscle already?
I mean with a half life of roughly 48 hrs it should peak plasma levels relatively quickly. However 4 lbs in 8 days is a lot unless you've increased your food in some way that you haven't mentioned. to add 8 lbs in that short time frame is gonna take more than just some tren.
Yea I figured I would be reaching peak levels about. Now but for it to actually be kicking in nicely I would think that it would take at least another week or two. I also failed to mention that last week I was 16.8% BF and today I am 16% BF. So I guess I'm still losing BF just not sure why I gained
