Newbie - first cycle
ad
Hey everyone. I'm just looking for a bit of advice on starting my first cycle. I've been working out for about 5years but properly for about 2years. I'm 26, 5ft 11 and weigh 175lb.
I was given a cycle by a friend who does alot of strongman and power lifting. It was a copy of his first cycle but I thought it looked a bit big for me so I altered it a bit to the following.
Week 1-10 - 250mg Test E
Week 1-4 - 20mg Dianabol pd
PCT: Nolvadex 40/40/20/20 pd
Clomid 100/100/50/50 pd
I really just want to start small to see how it reacts and how much progress I see. Like I say I'm totally new to this so any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks

Before you even talk about cycle maybe you should list your diet! That probably is the problem and no need for AAS...
Nice at your weight and height and cycle me and you are very similar i am taking almost double of what you are but would be nice to talk to eachother through the steps
Let me know if you have any questions maybe we can help each other out
The guy has already acknowledged that he needs to focus on diet and get to a solid base before considering AAS use in the comments below. At 27 and 165lbs you could do with following his example rather than encouraging him to double the proposed dosage.
AnonHow are you gonna help him? You are not ready yourself.... Why are your stats not completely filled out?
Now!..... thats a recipe for disaster, thats like 2 kids huddled up in the corner of the changing rooms talkin roids when neither knows what the fuck they are doing.
Been there, done that, got the T-shirt!!............ it doesnt work bro, thats like the blind leading the blind ;/
Damn that cracked me up! The vision I have stuck in my head now is me overhearing 2 skinny guys in the corner of the gym bragging about their roid use and one of them wearing the "Been there, done that" wife beater shirt.
RustyhookerBut...brah, I can help this dawg.
Boy, I'm not quite sure if I should neg you for encouraging him to get on AAS even though it's obvious that he should probably stay natural for a bit longer and learn how to eat and train properly.
Further he mentioned below that he's giving it a serious thought of not running it.
We are working hard on giving advice for people who really need it and if everyone is recommending XXXX and you as the only one get on here and encouraging to do the opposite, that just destroys our work of getting his head fixed!
Everyone is different, with different goals. People are different, and with different needs. You would not trust anonymous guy on the Internet on how to dose to control your blood pressure or cancer meds, so why think they will be able to tell you about what you need in this case.
First, determine your goals. Ben Johnson was 5 ft 9 1⁄2 in and 165 lb and using to win the Olympics. He wanted to go faster, and did what he needed. Smaller and skinner that you, he won the Olympics. Did any of these guys?
I'd say this: put together a regime that would match that while you are cycling, run it, and see what the results are. A full 14 weeks, eating right and hitting the weights right, and ensure you see some gains. Check out John Berardi and Michael Mejia's work if you are having a hard time putting on pounds, and factor that into this cycle.
If you successfully run that cycle, make some gains, then think about one with AAS. I'd find (1) an open-minded doctor and (2) a sports nutritionist to speak to and figure this out.
He didn't though did he? Where's his medal?
Got a gold metal . . . and had to give it back: that's the Olympics
I love your approach bro............. its fkn perfection.
Great to see highly experienced guys onboard steering us in the right direction..... its refreshing and im all over it ;)
Cant tell you how glad i am to have you here...... i can learn soooo much from your experience i should help me hit my goals.
Thank you brother........ looking forwards to more of your input on the board, it should be great
Now I'm really laughing. Awesome :-)!!!
Are you kidding right now? Your comparing a random guy ( on the internet who you've never seen or met) to a fucking Olympic athlete? Basically patting him on the ass? Saying the rest of the guys here know fuck all and are big meanies?
Is that a rhetorical question?
He didn't say what he wants. Is someone going to tell Olech Jaroslav he needs to put on weight before he think about PEP? Or an aspiring Ben Johnson?
I don't know the kid, which I why I wouldn't tell him what he needs to do (gain weight, take this, etc) besides figuring out what he wants/needs and talk to an open minded doctor and a good nutritionist about how he can meet those needs rather than getting advice from a "a random guy ( on the internet who you've never seen or met)."
Or is that bad advice from a random guy on the Internet?
Your barking up the wrong tree I can promise you that.
Your basically not giving a fuck this kid is trying to run two compounds instead of one at a time getting used to keeping estro in line. How to properly pin. Learn the half life of the long ester etc etc. Not concerned with his prior gym habits or how long he's been in it. Not concerned with his past diet either but tell him to do it right on cycle? Wtf right now.
Than you compare him to an Olympic athlete? Why because he's the same weight and height or close to it? Are you kidding.
I know a guy with similar stats as Jordan but couldn't do shit with a basketball let alone as athletic.
He got this cycle idea from a friend who does strong man. Do his stats sound like a guy ready to jump on a cycle to you? Answer wisley. I know god damn teenagers in the gym with stats like his. 5 years of proper training? I think not also. Because if he did he'd be much further along not with stats similar to my wife who's 5'3 and she didn't need a test dbol for a first cycle to get there.
Then you say well eat right and lift good for 14 weeks, are you kidding?
Gear isn't used to get and shape. And when you basically shit on the site saying do your own thing fuck all these guys. None of them won the Olympics. Sorry buddy but that's not how this forum works.
The above statement is THE problem with all the madness in this steroid world.
And the reason why i personally have chosen to NEVER advise anything to do with steroids and the like EVER again on Internet forums...... training and food im ok with but NEVER steroid or cycle advice EVER AGAIN.
Amen to that, @VikingEvolution. You wouldn't get advice on dosing your diabetes medicine from an online forum, and PEP/AAS can have just as dramatic an impact on your health.
I think all "newbies" should begin by just by running the food/workout regime that they plan to run on cycle to see how it works. Unfortunately, I see a lot of folks who actually can't keep it up, and so they shouldn't think that someone they are going to get more willpower out of a needle or a pill. As most of us know, it doesn't work that way.
And then, given everyone is different, they should get individualized advice from a good, open-minded doctor. For example, a kid at 25 or 26 (or hell, 35!) might not realize that in fact his/her LDL is through the roof, and that using a PEP that increases his cholesterol is putting him/her health and life at major risk down the road. Doing the blood work, speaking to a doctor and a sports nutritionist, is just good common sense before you begin meddling with health.
All that being said, I think that the exchanging of experiences in forums like this is very valuable, and I don't mean to disparage anyone or their knowledge and know-how. But being an old gym rat who has been around and being a 25 or 26 year old kid who just wants to be what he sees on TV is a lot different.
Perfect bro............... i agree with every word
You need to gain some muscle on that frame and train better first
.
Sorry but I have to tell you, your friend is an idiot. He clearly doesn't know what he's doing when he recommends smt. like this to someone with your stats.
You're first training for 2 years, yes the other years don't really count when you just fucked around with weights.
Start a decent training routine, nutrition plan and take advantage of where you're currently at. If you do eveything properly, come back in a couple of years when you still feel the need of doing aas.
At 5-11 and 175lbs you're not even close to having a decent base before using steroids.
Are you trying to be a powerlifter or what are you trying to accomplish with this cycle. First cycle you need to do is food. You have nowhere near the base to be running a cycle yet. What is your diet and training like? Let's get those ironed out first and get a base built before you need to be thinking about cycling.
Thanks guys. Thats the reason I was a bit apprehensive to begin with because of my weight. I'm not into powerlifting or strongman. It's aesthetic bodybuilding I'm interested in. I've only really sorted out my diet the past 8-10 weeks. I used to just eat decent food and whenever I felt hungry but I now have a meal plan set out and weigh my food before dishing each meal up.
I was doing a 5x5 workout routine and finished it last week and noticed a jump in strength and i put on about 4lb. I've just started doing the Arnie Blueprint routine this week.
Thanks for the feedback. I do struggle to put on weight and have a real fast motabilism. I'm just gonna have to try and increase my food intake I guess.
Out of interest what would be a reasonable base weight to start a cycle?
Good approach buddy.
Finally there's an open minded guy looking for advice.
If you have struggle to gain weight, there's a guide article about it here in the forums (about hardgainers) but I'm sitting on my phone, so it's harder to find the link for you. But I recommend you reading it.
Other than that. What's a good weight to start?! No one can give you a clear answer to it. Train for a couple of years and really milk your natural potential. You can make great gains and look awesome without ever touching AAS. If you arrived there in a couple of years and you still decide you want to take smt. only you can decide if you're really ready. Ie. knowledge wise as well as performance wise.
Awesome man. Thanks for the advice. I'll get some reading done and up the eating. I'll leave it fow a while yet then and see how I get on. Cheers
Good attitude man, you will do well.
Cool! Feel free to let us know how it's going. If you have any further issues or questions along the way, you're always welcome to ask
This is how its done... good attitude deserves +3.
