+ 5 First Cycle Coming Up - High Prolactin

ad

I had originally planned to start my cycle the first week in November. I'm a fan of keeping things as simple as possible and want to avoid the use of multiple compounds in the beginning to allow me to gauge effectiveness, tolerance, etc. to give me a solid baseline to work with for any future cycles. Therefore my first cycle will be 500mg Test E per week, pinned twice a week (so 250mg x 2) for 15 weeks. I won't be frontloading / kickstarting with anything. I have Arimidex for during cycle and Nolvadex for PCT.

Despite others telling me I'm being 'too cautious' because '500mg test is such a mild dose', I also had blood tests done using Medichecks. I used their 'Male Hormone Check' test. My proteins came back fine and most of my hormones were fine, with the exception of DHEAS, which i'm not concerned with as it was only slightly elevated at 13.3umol/L (maximum range is 12.2) and prolactin, which I am somewhat concerned with, at a whopping 593mU/L (maximum range is 324).

I must admit, the high prolactin isn't a total surprise. Whilst i'm certainly not leaking milk from my nips, I do have somewhat 'puffier' nips than other blokes. Not that I spend a lot of time looking at blokes' nipples but as far back as I can remember mine have always had a bit of puffiness to them, but not so bad that I've felt like I've needed to do anything about them up until now (possibly because they're hidden behind chest hair!). I wouldn't say I have Gyno. I don't have boobs. But because of the nipple thing part of me did expect my oestrogen level to be higher than normal (though this was fine).

So, with that information, I have some question:

1) Has anyone else experienced high prolactin levels BEFORE dabbling with AAS? What did you do to fix it?

2) My initial thoughts were to postpone my cycle and attempt to treat the high prolactin levels first. Would this be a sensible approach, or should I just jump on cycle and treat it at the same time?

3) I plan to purchase cabergoline (Dostinex 0.25mg - manufactured by Pfizer from a source I have been talking with for a while). From reading up, it seems 0.25mg twice per week is a good starting point. Also, does running caber bring prolactin levels down permanently, or only whilst running it?

4) There seems to be a fair bit of conflicting advise from some people when it comes to running AI whilst on cycle, particularly while on a 'mild cycle': some say run it regardless, some say wait and see if you need it. Personally, in the interest of keeping things simple, I would have waited to see if I required it before starting Arimidex however in light of the above is it recommended I run Arimidex from the start? Does Arimidex have any direct impact on prolactin?

Thanks in advance!

Latest update:

My doctor called me couple of hours ago to advise that my prolactin level is normal (231mU/L ). The only thing  that came back irregular is my B12 levels, which are apparently on the low side. I need to look into it a bit more but I'm sure I read that prolactin and B12 are connected, i.e. high prolactin levels can be caused by a B12 deficiency. Does anyone know if this is the case? Has anyone experienced this?

Anyway, my doctor asked me to be 6 weeks on B12 tablets to try and fix it. He said low B12 is nothing serious but can cause tiredness and lethargy, which were the symptoms I said I was experiencing, so I will take the tablets and let´s see.

Now I needed to decide if I should sack the caber off altogether (can't see a need for it if my prolactin isn't high?) if I should put off starting my cycle until I complete this 6 week course. So I decided not to start the cycle yet. I´ll wait 7 more weeks while using the B12 and then let´s see.

Indeed, he is.

Update about this:

I visited my GP today and he played the high prolactin level down a bit at just under, stating that although my levels were slightly higher than usual at 593mU/L he rarely sees any cause for concern unless he sees figures in the thousands.

He did a nipple check and found nothing - no lumpiness, no signs of gyno. I must be over exaggerating  the puffiness of my nipples!

I advised him the reason for me getting the blood work done was because I simply wanted to get myself checked out due to now being in my thirties. He did offer me a full blood test to check prolactin, cholesterol, etc. so I'm booked in to get that done on Wednesday, which is good.

I asked him his thoughts on the online medical companies such as Medichecks and he said they're hit and miss and can cause people to be concerned unnecessarily (I may be a good example of this!). He also said I was a fool for paying the 50 euro (or whatever it was) to get it done when I already pay tax and could have had him do it. Which is a fair point. He was quite encouraging about coming to him to get blood work done if I ever fancied getting checked out so, again, a good thing.

If anything comes out of Wednesday blood work I'll provide a further update.

Cheers.

What meds you on? Lots of psych meds will increase prolactin. Many others too.

I'd see a Doc like Dphilly says, but if you don't Caber is an option, the net bloods after taking it.

Finally a new member who does his homework before using gear, +2 and welcome on board. With 500 mgs of test for first cycle you can get great results.

Btw, listen to D's advice below.

Mad props too you for this post. I have some cycles under my belt and still do 500 mg of test e and a oral. You get great gainz from it and less sides than crazy amounts but I don't have exp with your prolactin but D gave you some good advise and I would listen to him. My first cycle was 500 of test e I put on 15 lbs I think if I remember. +1

I’d hold off and go see a doc. You’ve already waited this long what’s another little bit? Could be an underlying condition.

Look up prolactinoma. I’m not saying that’s it or trying to freak you out, just pointing out the possibilities of an underlying issue and why you should check with a doc first to make sure your bases are covered.

500 test only isn’t mild for a first cycle. It’s a good first cycle. You’re doing it right. ++ for doing ur research.

Do a little more research on PCT and think about trying 12 weeks first. Ur in the right direction tho. But def hold off and go make sure you don’t have any conditions causing this.

I have an appoinment with my GP on Monday. As you stated, I´m not in a rush now and I prefer to get a proper advice before getting into a proper cycle, sure.

To be accurate, the cycle will be 450 mg test/ week (500 mg/8 days).

About PCT, I forgot to write here about the Clomid and the HcG. Once I know when I´m starting with it I´ll properly add all the dossages and products in the cycle section I discovered yesterday.

Thank for your advices.
