Back to Back Strength Competition - Steroid Protacal/Extended Oral Use
Hey guys,
So quick:
35 yo
5 cycles under my belt now, and currently cruise/blasting, and currently in a blast phase.
Compete in strength sports, specifically strongman
My current blast was 10 weeks of 600 mg test e, 500 mg NPP, and 6 weeks of 50-75mg t-bol ending on the last was my previous competition 2 weeks ago. I also dropped the NPP, as I don't feel it did jack for me. I also ran Prami, Aromasin, HCG, Liv.52, Taurine, therapeutic dose of asprin, etc.
So I have another competition set for two weeks from this Saturday. I'm kind of experimenting with my doses to see what will work, but loved using the T-bol to peak for my last competition. The downside for the next comp is that I'm only on Test and lose the aggressiveness I get from the T-bol. I haven't lost any strength really, but I want to go into this next competition feeling as focused and aggressive as last one. This is a tricky state to be in IMO, considering I'm not following any traditional protocols for a typical cycle, i.e. I'm manipulating the products I'm on to work to give me timed advantage, rather than kick starting (T-bol mid-blast) for instance.
My question here is how you all would feel about adding in T-bol again just for a couple weeks going into this next competition? I realize that A) I've only been off for two weeks, and hepatoxicity is a major factor, and B) two weeks may not be enough time for the T-bol to be effective again. Please throw me your input, whether negative or positive. It'll help me weigh my options, and maybe even kick myself in the ass a few times lol. Why I'm asking about T-bol specifically, is because it's really I have available ATM. Maybe a D-bol would be more effective, but can't afford the water weight, and subsequent cut.

It sounds a bit to me like your relying too much on androgens for success. If you put in the work and were building on a strong foundation than your ability on competition day will not boil down to more or less gear.
There are other more important factors that affect strength on any given day, IMO gear is not the primary and unless your test levels totally crash and your in a catabolic state, the strength, drive and heart for competition is gonna come from another place than a few mg of androgens. Guys like Phil Phister and Magnus Samulson were champions and beat guys who used tons of gear, the days they came in as #1 and the days they came #8 or #4 were not a matter of androgens.
gear is helpful but its only a small role when it comes to powerlifting and strongman.
Definitely some good points. I guarantee Samulson was on gear when he was winning. Pfister I've always liked to believe he was a legit natural. I have put in 9 years of work, and of those 7 were natty. I am an extremely focused, driven, and successful amateur athlete, just pushing for the next level. As I've mentioned to the guys below, this is nothing I am bound and determined to follow through with, it was a simple consideration due to my lack of experience with back to back shows while on "cycle". Previously, I was on a long 16 week macro training cycle, the beginning of which I was still on a low dose cruise, the last 10 were cycle doses geared toward peaking at a timed date, which I think was very successful. A lot of this is a matter of trying to find out what other strength athletes who compete on cycle may do for back to back competitions. Perhaps I'll be just fine on the test only I'm on now, but also know I'm not at the same level I was a couple weeks ago, do to the drop of the androgens. There is a noticeable response for me. I guess if it was just a random competition that didn't mean anything I wouldn't care much, but it's a bit more than that. The stakes are high. The prize coveted. I'll probably, no doubt just continue on with the test dose I'm on, because I am not willing to sacrifice health for glory. But want the glory so damn bad
When you say your not at the same level from a few weeks ago you mean your actual 1rm+5rm strength has dropped? or just intensity and energy?
I think physically your strength should not be affected so long as your not going catabolic which if your test is still high end TRT shouldn't be a problem. I've matched PR's on PCT and the only difference is how it felt. (if that makes sense) I'm not a hippie or anything but I believe strongly that mind over muscle is huge factor. We've all had days where shit just feels heavy, sometimes you need to scale back, other times I've scaled down and hit all my sets and its like I snapped out of it at the end and just say screw it! so decide to do a few extra and hit a PR. I've had days where I've worked overtime (doing manual labor 5am-7pm) skipped meals and just had to drink protein. But the whole time at work i'm thinking about my workout and when I get home its no shower, just straight to the gym, no real warms up and I just crush it, knowing damm well if I had sat down on the couch for just a minute at home I wasn't getting up all night let alone go train, I get to the gym, its late and crowed I just go ape shit and hit PR.
Dude, tell yourself to go **** yourself, and who knows, you might do better at the second contest than the first!
Best of luck to you
BIGBOY1234Drop tbol for halo
so after he makes this statement
You advise him to drop Tbol for the most hepatoxic oral available, Halo.
I gave you -1 for that reckless advise.
I saw this also and didn't think it was worthy of a response. I also state in the opening post that I am very aware of the consideration needed for hepatoxicity. This thread is about a relatively mild oral as far as most orals are considered. So regardless of my above statement, to jump to the most toxic oral is rather irresponsible. Luckily, though my original post may suggest uncertainty, and inquisition, I am not a complete fool
The big question of the day is....Why are you blasting and cruising? Thats not how it works unless you are a Pro BB who rakes in the big paychecks or a TRT patient. I know a few guys in Powerlifting and they do not blast and cruise at all because they are smart enough to know the difference and they like having the choice to pin. They do maybe 1 cycle a year and sometimes they don't cycle at all. These guys are Pro's by the way and train at one of the backyard gyms I go to and yes; they have the trophy's and the money that goes with it. I would really like to know what you consider a dose for cruising is. What also pops out at me is Tbol is one of my favorite orals and I never get aggression from it. I get great strength gains from 60mg a day but no aggression. Tbol is considered the EQ of orals that it takes almost 4 out of your 5-6 week cycle to gain any strength or benefits.
Yeah, sorry I'm now on TRT. My natural test even before I ever started using was only 335. Figured the TRT was implied, also get tired of having to repost my life story every time as a question
No offense to you or anyone responding, as I do appreciate it! Just a major inconvenience. I guess I need to get something to just copy and paste to make it quick lol.
My cruise dose is 200mg/wk. I'm currently on a blast that was intended to only be 12 weeks, but am stretching it out to 14 for this next comp, then back to cruise or to come off to get the boys back in working order to freeze some sperm for the woman if and when she wants kids. That's a decision still in the works.
I hear you on the T-bol. My gains are always in weeks 5 and 6, but I get aggressive as hell on it, as well as crazy strength gains. I love it! It's also perfect for my lower weight class because it doesn't come with the water weight. My question was just one to ponder, and not necessarily an absolute course of action. I'll probably go into it on a little higher dose of test.
I actually know of several top powerlifters who cruise and blast. I'm sure there are those who do not also. My reasons are for big purposes and not just hobby.
Throw up some pics, lets see what your working with. There are a few of us Powerlifter's here that can give you some advice and a few more advanced ones that can really help you with a proper cycle; because you are weight restricted and certain combos will put you over the scale.
I'll do that a little later. Have to hit the gym now! But thank you. This back to back competition while on cycle thing is totally new territory for me. I'll send FR. Thanks!
You're leaving a big piece of information out. How long have you been "cruising" and on what at what dosage prior to the current "blast." I don't know who started this blast and cruise bull shit but it's gonna land scores of folk in the hospital waiting on liver and kidney transplants which they may or may not get when the condition that caused the organ failure is one of drug abuse. I really invite you to stare at the real life pictures at this link - shocked the hell out of me, glad the guys are still alive: http://www.eroids.com/forum/steroids-qa/anabolic-steroids/too-much-oral-... Now, you look at those pics and don't for a microsecond think it can't happen to you. Really? If I were u, I wouldn't make another move without a blood test. Get that blood test and stare at those numbers and think about it. If you live in the US look up Private MD Labs or LabsMD on the magnifying glass at the top of the page and if you don't find what u want you can FR me and I will send you the info.
id feel ok about it, my liver, kidneys and test production will be just fine, yours probably wont. elaborate on your " competition" sounds weird bro, those guys are crazy focused on everything especially diet at that stage, your just going on about some scroungy orals, your lucky vikings away....lol
I fail to see how you can conclude that my liver, kidneys won't be fine, but yours would? I'm not on any crazy doses, or outside the normal parameters for the substances I'm using. I cruised 12 weeks, and have been on "cycle" doses for 12, with the NPP dropped at 10 because it was worthless to me, and the T-bol only running 6 wees, which is perfectly expected. My test production has never been fine even before starting steroids, and I'm on TRT, so I guess you may be accurate on that one account. My question regarding the "scroungy orals" is nothing more than re-attaining my the aggressive state I was in last competition, and nothing written in stone. It's a strength game. My diet and training are spot on, trust me on that one ;)
This should be an easy question to answer if you care at all about your health, especially long term. Not sure what else to say.....
Correct, I guess I just have a lot to gain right now and making extra considerations, and absolutely nothing written in stone. I've known people to run T-bol for 8 weeks before, so I don't think it's also an outlandish option, but obviously one in need of careful consideration, all things considered.
it's just not a good idea; even though its mild at LOW doses; when you go 50 or more it starts to be toxic and after 6 weeks you have to get liver values checked. Orals should only be run for their recommended duration because of the permanent damage they do to your liver known as scarring. At older age it comes back to severely haunt you. Always take time off of an oral for at least a pct timeframe and run some liver cleansers. Dandelion tea is superior for that and a few health stores sell it. You get used to the taste after a few. I did a TON of research on Tbol that I sometimes have wet dreams about it.
We all have different goal. I'm just preaching safety first. There are lots of folks who have run orals for extended periods of times and got away with it. Most pay for it later. Liver damage usually won't manifest itself for quite some time. You may get away with constantly cycling and maybe you won't. Only you can make that decision. You just need to take your health into consideration and not just what competition you want to do well in next. Best of luck.
