3rd cycle recommendations?

ad

Hello all,

33 years old. 5ft 11. 208lbs. 16% bodyfat.

Ran two cycles previously.

Test E at 500mg per week - 12 weeks.

Test E at 600mg per week - 12 weeks. with D-Bol @ 30mg per day 6 weeks.

Had bloodwork done before during and after cycle. PCT. All was well, no problems and all back to normal.

Last cycle was around a year ago. continued training after then had a layoff of about 2 months then back in the gym again now, planning another cycle and diet etc.

Was looking at 500mg test C or Prop per week (had some water retention on Enth, more so on the D-Bol, was using arimidex throughout cycle but still got a bit wet lol - blew up good though) and then 6 weeks winstrol to finish and cut up a bit.

Havent ordered anything yet and will get diet and training completely in check and drop a little more bodyfat over next month or so before beginning.

Any Advice and recommendations welcome thanks - I was given lots of good advice last time I had asked and followed about 90% of it so thanks anyone that helped me out last time too .. thinking about doing a log this time to record the cycle, Cheers guys

Thanks for heads up...I'll keep my eyes open...

Cheers mate. Not gonna run right now but a question anyway: if you ran successive test only cycles does your body adapt and would you up the dosage for each cycle as long as you are reacting well? And at what kind of dosage would you level out at ?

If you ran successive test only cycles does your body adapt and would you up the dosage for each cycle as long as you are reacting well?

The answer to this question could fall under the rationale of steroid abuse. Everybody is different. Time on, equals time off including PCT. The focus to maintain your results from a cycle is a challenge once the cycle is over, however, it can be done with proper lifting regimens and a carefully calculated cal/mac plan. If you're a steroid junkie, you'll never ever "level out" in your own mind because you've failed to grasp the concept of how the pharmacodynamics/pharmacokinetics of AAS are actually utilized. It's better to let your body rest between well-planned cycles.

Bulk up to 230 lbs naturally and then look at a cycle ? what kinda BF% would I be looking at ideally

MedDx's picture

BF% Is good question...I'd say 12-15% would be a good goal to maintain....

Are you ecto, endo or a mix?

What's your metabolism like?

NathanH's picture

OK so if I stay with same fat as now and put on 22 lbs of muscle it will put me at 230lbs under 15% BF haha looks like a way to go hey ;-)

I am more towards Endo. I can gain weight quite easily and if no training or watching diet then my body starts storing fat. When I start training and good diet and ramp up my metabolism then I can drop the weight off quite quickly.

MedDx's picture

Also, take your workout to the next level each time, whether you're lifting heavy or light, make the muscle burn. If you're not making the muscle burn with the heavy weight then drop the weight down, but at least push for the rep that gets the burn...use a spotter if need be...tear up all your muscle fibers...your legs, your back, your chest...work for muscle fiber overlay like you've never done before....

NathanH's picture

Nice one. I have been taking this week and the next to only concentrate on form. Reading through the Mi40x exercise guide and researching the exercise then using a light weight and focusing only on form and muscle contraction. After the next week doing this I will pump up the weights again and keep same techniques. But man is this making me burn using only light weights !

MedDx's picture

Increase weight increments by 5-10 lbs when ready...20 lbs max...form, grip placement, time under tension, focusing on the negatives, no lock outs, will help with control and strength.

I've had to bring my hand grip in closer on the BP due to inflamed bicep tendon. TENS unit helps a lot, too.

If you know how to equalize your macros, then you're 2 steps ahead,.especially knowing your body type and your metabolism.

Look up foods that compliment your blood type.

If it's true what you say about your body, then min to mod cardio would be advantageous, too, especially if you gain fat fast. Just stay ahead of the game and utilize foods and lifting regimens...mirror, fat calipers, and scale help, but remember they are all tools of the trade....listening to your body and knowing how your body responds to your environment is half the battle.... We got lucky and we're offered squash, zucchini, cantaloupe, watermelon, peppers, black eyed peas, okra, tomatoes, etc from a friend out of their garden. Yesterday, I made 3 cups of jasmine rice, quartered about 12 tomatoes, and ended up with about 2.5 cups of zucchini. I cooked it all down, seasoned it and ate it with a stuffed pepper of monterrey jack cheese and hamburger meat. Meat was cooked and seasoned as well. It turned out great and there's plenty rice combo left over to mix with chicken, or turkey, or even a good piece of steak could be combined in this rice/tomatoe/zucchini combo...

I want to cut down more body fat now before trying to gain weight so I can have a leaner bulk.

Currently started the Mi40x program which has a detox week and primer week so doing that right now then move onto main program.

Diet am looking at is around 2600 calories. 310g proteín / 130g fat / 50g or less of carbs (carbs from leafy greens and veg with each meal - can throw in some more carbs such as dextrose 40g directly after exercise with protein shake). (Protein from chicken breast, lean beef, lean turkey, egg whites and a couple of whole eggs, fish and protein shakes - 1 after gym) Will stick on that for a while and as my body fat drops then slowly reintroduce carbs and drop fat while increasing calories and see how I am responding.

What's your thoughts ? Cheers

Ah I had my blood work done before, during and after my last cycle. I had posted some of the results in here on the other thread I started. So I has compared the after results to the before and all was good and in the same range. It was around a year ago now so can't remember the exact results but the comparation was fine. Haven't had any done since then but didn't think that was needed ?

MedDx's picture

What's your thoughts ?

I wanna see the post cycle BW for the last cycle and i need to know when the bloods were collected. I like the idea it has been a year ago! Can u get me a link?

Carbs------> I'd choose carbs with a low glycemic index and titrate between 50g and up to a max of 150g/day. You're gonna be ravenous, even with fats at 130g/d, while your 50g/d carb intake is going on!! When you start to decrease your carbs that's when you need to increase good fats to 130g/d, plus I'd keep a low end on the fats at 90-100 when carbs are at 150. Protein looks adequate for growth based off weight, for now.

NathanH's picture

Just looked through the thread I made when I did the cycle and unfortunately only posted up the before blood work results. As it was a year ago and I have moved house since with a clear out I don't believe I have any of the results anymore.

Does taking a blood test now have value still ? Quite cheap for me to do here

Thanks for the heads up on carbs . . For sure I am carb sensitive and can gain body fat quote easily if I am on them. Only carbs I am looking at really is brown rice a few hours before workout. Greens and veg all day with meals then a high GI carb source such as dextrose directly after gym with protein shake.

will get diet and training completely in check and drop a little more bodyfat over next month or so

It's good to think ahead, but, if your diet and training aren't in check you have other problems that need your full attention first.

NathanH's picture

Yes agreed. What I mean by that is - as I have just had a 2 month break from the gym then I don't consider my diet and training in check within a month of coming back and will need more time being consistent to say I am 'back in check' if you follow me

giardap's picture

Here is something to think on, and I'd be keen to get your thoughts on it

You mentioned your first cycle, due to lack of control had limited long term results, if any?
At the beginning of your last cycle, you listed stats of: 196lbs, 14% bodyfat
Your profile lists age 32, 200lbs, 16% bf - presumably either before or after the cycle.
Now you are: 208lbs. 16% bodyfat.

The above is a little inconsistent, but not by much. Seems like your last cycle was a bust too, certainly based on what you listed here and previously. Were you aware of this (trend).

So I couldn't possibly advise doing another cycle until you sort out whatever it is that is causing you to tread water. It will be diet related, but yes sure perhaps discipline as well which might be a mental thing. Either way, you need to take a serious look at it and step back from the AAS usage (its doing nothing good for you).

NathanH's picture

Thanks for the input. I'm inclined to agree with you on points made.

I started at 167lbs so have made a lot of progress over time but definitely the inconsistencies have let me down.

My weight flew up on that last cycle especially while on D-bol and I was on a 4000+ calorie diet recommended to me from here. Finished the cycle good with weight made then have not kept all the gains made over this last year due to the things you have outlined here.

What would be the suggestion from yourself in this respect? Put in 6 months to a year of solid dedication on training and diet then re-analyse where I am up to?

giardap's picture

I hear ya. I dont use dbol anymore, the reason for the weight jump is water retention. yes it hits you with strength increases, but the gains in my opinion tend to be very short lived. I would suggest this to you, not necessarily to put a time frame on it, but to really learn what works for you

I realised, similar to your sitation, a few years back that I was just yo-yo'ing between weight, and the only thing that goes up over the longer term is bodyfat. So I had to reflect, like you are doing now. I decided to learn about food first and then lifting 2ndly, and then I learned about hormone management (insulin primarily but then estrogen afterwards - lots of estro in fat too) and cyclical bulking. In that order. My journey was something like this - precision nutrition lean eating (learned a lot from those lads), then learned keto, then keto induced fat adaption and later how to further adapt it to a bodybuilding lifestyle. Then I used Ben Pakulski videos to learn how to to fix my shoulder problems via correct stabilisation and engagement. This got me over my rotator issues (torn/popped in 3 places), so I followed up by using his Mi40/Mi40x programs (game changer) and then later his incredible bulk program (cyclical bulking) and learned further how to manipulate foods in a way that worked for me. -- I am not selling you on any of these, its just what I did after realising I was doing it all wrong for say 10 years and like you, little benefit to be seen. I spent 4/5 years trying to get it right and really only nailed it in the last 3-4 years or so.

So my recommendation would be shelve the AAS until you learn food, learn exercise excellence, learn (really learn) mind-muscle connection, then learn cyclical bulking with how to manage insulin sensitivity via what you learned about foods earlier. Once you have this and have successfully done a bulk and seen growth (presuming bulking will then still be a goal), then you might be ready for AAS. Or, you might make huge consistent natty gains and might keep going until you hit the limit at which point, presuming consistency, you should have this lifestyle ingrained and will be very much so ready for AAS. I wouldn't set a timeframe though as that becomes the goal. Set goals based on what you either want or NEED to achieve.
Imagine being THAT rock solid and then switching on the testo???? imagine what you could achieve in just a short couple of years.

I wish I could go back to my 20 something year old self and say all that!

NathanH's picture

Thanks a lot for the reply and taking the trouble to outline your experience and the path you have taken for me, much appreciated man!

Yes I had a really big blow up on D-Bol, it was almost a little silly and lots of water retention, then the weight dropped off fast after stopping taking.

From 167 up to about 190lbs I had constant progress with little yo-yo ing. then when I hit about the 200 mark I have been floating around there for a while, up and down with varying degrees of bodyfat.

I am researching the things that you have suggested here, I have done a of research myself over the last few years and have gained knowledge on nutrition (have been in Keto also) and exercise. My big problem seems to be discilpline. I will blast the fitness for a period of time, have agood results then let it go for some time then begin again so creating my yo-yo'ing.

Took on board everything you have said here and so am not looking at AAS right this second, I will further research the things you have laid out and then if I am able to put them into practise with discipline for a good period of time with good results then will look into next cycle.

Thanks again for the advice

Good for you man,
Really hope it goes well for you
