Hey

Im a 100 - 200m sprinter trying to increase my speed. Strength is not my main concern, recovery is. I'm looking for a mild steroid with little to no side effects, and Anavar comes to mind. I'm planning to run a 5mg per day cycle for 3 weeks, then 3 weeks off, then 3 weeks 5mg/day, then 3wks off and so on. Will it do any good recovery wise? Will it increase my strength?

You might wonder why such a low dose, well it's what the great Charlie Francis (coach of Ben johnson) used with his athletes. 5mg was for the woman though, I think the guys used 10mg per day, but since it's my first ever cycle i'll rather do 5mg.

Thx in advance.

use 40-100 mg a day if you want any benefits from anavar. It will increase your strength and recovery. Adding testosterone with it is also highly recommended and will help that much more, believe me test e and anavar cycles are incredible for helping with athletic performance.

Charlie Francis didn't necessarily know shit about steroids just saying. Not many people did back in the 80s, we've come a long way since then.

Almost every compound is going to help you with your recovery, from the increased RBC and protein synthesis, etc. If you are trying to increase your speed, then strength IS your concern. Stronger = faster. The rest of it comes from your nervous system adaptations, i.e training.

You will not blow up in size unless you are eating to support that kind of growth.

There are some compounds you do want to avoid as a sprinter - Trenbolone and other 19-nors. Trenbolone will negatively affect cardiovascular performance. No one knows why it does, but it does. Shortness of breath is common on tren. Similarily you want to avoid high water retention (this is easily avoidable even with highly androgenic compounds by using an Aromatase Inhibitor such as Exemestane/Aromasin)

For you, I'd suggest any of the following: testosterone (run with an aromatase inhibitor to prevent massive water retention) , anavar, equipoise (again, use an AI). Ideally I'd go for a combination of testosterone propionate and anavar.

If you want to do short cycles, 3 weeks is too long. For short cycles, 2 weeks is the maximum you can do and still have your HPTA bounce back in less than a week. If you go beyond the 2 week point you may as well do a whole 8 week cycle. Otherwise you will just be shutting yourself down before you have recovered again and again. If you do chose to do 2 weekers, there's a great deal of information regarding them on mesorx (now thinksteroids.com) and t-nation. Do a search for 2 on/4 off cycles and bill roberts.

Good luck
