New study shows testosterone increases heart attacks
ad
Just seen this article on yahoo. Check it out and post your opinion on the studies. It basically says that trt increases the risk of heart attack and stroke. So in other words any supplementation with testosterone increases your risk.

I've read somewhere that elevated test can cause these problems, but have also read that low test can as well, I really think they have no fucking clue what causes what but speculate rather.
That study doesn't take estrogen control into account.
Most doctors don't prescribe arimidex with TRT, so high estrogen is actually the cause of the increased heart attacks, especially in men older than 65. This study is fucking stupid for not realizing this, yet they decided to put this study all over media and news on tv even though it's flawed
arimidex is currently only approved for prescription use for treatment of breast cancer. Most doctors do not like to prescribe drugs for off label use. Most doctors are uneducated or unaware of these things like HCG, arimidex and everything else that goes with TRT. Most endocrinologists specialize in thyroid or diabetes and ignore or focus less on hormone replacement therapy. So as of now these are the reasons why TRT isn't liked my many because they are unaware of these things
This. More athletes need to go for the MD and do endocrinology.
Test will hurt your cholesterol readings and raise blood pressure......hence increasing risk for cardiovascular diseases.....didmt we already know this? Its more a case of monitoring and living/eating healthy as well as the quality of life testosterone can provide.
Ironically my 12 year old daughter was the fort person to let me know about this report last week. These patients more then likely had multiple comorbidities and were not healthy gyms goers and diet freaks. Also, if you know even a little bit about ANY hormone supplementation this should be no shock because even birth control pills carry a small increased risk of causing blood clots and stroke.
DragonovYea birthcontrol is a steroid as well cholesterol derived hormones.
Yea those people must have not been eating right and not working out
But one thing is true Testosterone lowers your HDL idk if it lowers it in TRT dose but in cycle my HDL went down to 30 and i had it in 76
Like gun control, AS control is often abused in an attempt to get ratings. This particular article is outlandish. Now if they said DBOL is related to high blood pressure I could begin to agree!
BigBmajHigh test isn't related to high BP? The higher mine is the higher mine is. And the higher BP is the higher likelihood of both stroke and heart attack.
I think it's just a matter of accepting the fact that it's a mixed bag.
I don't believe pro or anti juice propaganda.
ZewiAnabolXThis study is being interpreted the way to make it sound like TRT or even test is a bad thing. I’m curious if they even read the whole study(instead of always the knee jerk reaction)—here is what I found interesting about it.. i put interesting things about the study in red..
"
Recently, a study in the Veteran’s Administration health care system of men average age over 60, 80% of whom had documented coronary disease<, reported an excess of a category of events that included death and cardiovascular disease in those receiving TRT.
[6] In the two studies assessing timing of the increase, it was noted to appear very soon following initiation of therapy. [4], [5] While this has raised public health concerns [2], [5], [7], significant questions remain.
In all 3 studies, combined cardiovascular disease endpoints were used since individual outcomes, particularly severe events, were too few to evaluate.
Perhaps because of this, or for other factors, the point estimates of risks were also divergent among the studies, with hazard ratios ranging from less than 1.3 to greater than 5.0. All of these studies also recognized the importance of evaluating risk among those men with and without preexisting heart disease, but did not have sufficient numbers of subjects to adequately assess this issue.
All three studies were also predominantly of older men, and unable to address risks in younger men where the increases in prescriptions have been the most dramatic
.
Therefore, using a large healthcare database, we evaluated the hypotheses that TRT might increase the risk of acute non-fatal myocardial infarction (MI), and that this effect might also be particularly strong in those with pre-existing cardiac disease
. We also explored whether these same effects might apply to younger men as well."
Put there are studies proven that TRT is a good thing..
"Testosterone replacement for men of any age who have below-normal levels is a valid medical treatment for a condition with clear potential to degrade overall health and well-being. Failure to treat hypogonadism puts men at higher risk for frailty, osteoporosis, heart disease and, perhaps, Alzheimer’s disease."
I read it. And, I have coronary artery disease already with 5 stents in place in the main arteries. The angioplasty was done at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore by one of the best, of course, and yearly imaging does not show any further progression of the disease.
If TRT doses of Test are a danger, we might as well throw in the towel on worldwide athletics with the kinds of AAS cycles some of us run. I've been an AAS user for almost 16 years and I am certain the my coronary artery disease is congenital and not connected with steroid use. So says the top dog at the JHH anyways.
Well, what should we do here? Gather BFG and the MOD team together and re-purpose the website?
Thanks for sharing, anyways. LMFAO. Not at u, bro. I'm not mocking u in any way.
Wow! Thanks for posting your info.
Shit like this dose make me think twice because just like you it runs in my family. My dad had a heart attack are 45 and had stents put in and that was like 20 years ago. Recently he suffered another one and had to have a double bypass. Everything was done through NIH which is one of the best places in the world just like John Hopkins.
idk if i missed the evidence for this conclusion.. all i see is "women have more heart attacks than men"
