Not sure if this is the forum for this but since most of you live in places where our appetites are frowned upon by "the man" thought id ask if anyone has used this or similar websites to help hide your tracks a bit.

Just use a VPN, Norton's now comes with a free VPN but seriously unless your a source I wouldn't really be to concerned about it.
That is a VPN service.
ISP's and their partners (norton, McAfee, etc) that provide a free VPN service are not offering a "true" VPN. Their goal is to protect you from attack. NOT to provide privacy. They can, for example, tell if you are downloading a bittorrent in violation of their terms of service.
So........ you go and resurrect a 9 year old thread about hiding your internet location.
I'm pretty sure much has changed over 9 years.
Any vpn will give your info if law enforcement ask for it.
Not any VPN. You need to use a VPN that doesn't keep logs. One that you can sign up and pay for anonymously. Mullvad vpn is preferred by the fraud community. If it is good enough for them to do their cyber crimes, it is good enough for you to buy roids.
I'm hoping Greg will give a class (or author and sticky a topic to the top of the page) on internet security.
I'm a computer science major with various certifications in IT. I'm well versed on security matters. I have multiple layers of security that I utilize. How much I use depends on my internet activity. Encrypted anonymous DNS, anonymous log free VPN, MAC address changer and CCleaner is all you need for most things.
I would suggest you talk to Greg, (he's on your friends list).
Maybe an updated subject on internet security and keeping yourself safe.
NordVPN has a strict no-log policy, facilitated by being outside the US and EU jurisdictions. That means they don’t track when users go online, to which servers they connect, which websites they visit or what files they download.

AnonHidemyass and the rest of them suck. If you are trully worried about security then you will be better off with linux. You can setup a vpn or a proxy and have as good security as possible.
bosoxboyGuys what's up. I am a computer geek lol funny but true. I work with computers for my employment. I am giving you this info as aprecursor to my response. Ip address are not changed when you unplug your router your local network (the one in your home) is reset that is true but your ip address that is assinged by your ISP (Internet service provider) does not change. With that being said you can hide it with programs. It's your MAC address that truly shows who and where you are. Just becareful. Use a cell phone,a laptop somewhere other then your home. Sorry for going geek on ya but that's the ip answe

The government will legalize it if they can make enough off it in taxes. But if you could grow it yourself (pot), or it can be easily imported because of size (AAS) and they (Gov.) can't get a cut, it's a no go.

tread-mI've addressed this before with my belief (opinion)...there's just not anywhere near enough manpower in the law to keep this under control at "our " level. Just not gonna happen. They will control it by going after the suppliers and even going after say a Gensci a few years ago but never at our level. Now if you get pulled over with it in your car, different deal. As to targeting , never. In my case and maybe each of you in here, I was on all the lists and computers of a recent supplier (DOMESTIC) that went down and never expected so much as a call and the call never came. Customs seizes millions of these a year and you "might" get a slip in the mail. I have compared it to the salmon spawn, 5 bears and 5 million fish...you just grab some big ones and that's all you can do. In that scenario there are many more bears in comparison to fish than there are enforcement to users. They can't create the budget that it would take to go after all the gear users because they can't recoup the funds it would take to do it. Even if they had the manpower the budget just gets smaller and smaller when compared to inflation. I would venture to guess 10% of the adult population uses something illegal from an enhancement standpoint. Whats unfortunate, if you have the mega cash to do so, you can do all this legally. Can you imagine if alcohol was only legal for those who made a million a year and illegal for anyone else? AND THIS IS HEALTHY IF USED PROPERLY! So its ok to smoke and we know without question that it will destroy your health and likely eventually kill you, but products that prove to be healthy when properly used are illegal? WELCOME TO AMERICA, CAN WE GET YOU SOME COMPLIMENTARY SMOKES? Oh and don't get me wrong I want smokes and alcohol and all legal, I want to be in charge of me!
I know if you have been IP banned from an online game and you unplug your router and plug it back in and change your name you're good to go.. I am not sure if that is the same IP address they use to find you though.
If it really works,...........maybe a good tool for a source.
While we as end users may be targeted from time to time, you got to think a legit source is wearing a much bigger X if domestic.
