first time getting bloodwork
so I live in the NE where getting bloods is a bit of a pain in the ass but over the next week or 2 before i begin things, I will have appropriate bloods taken regardless (FSH, LH, free and total test, E2, etc.) my question is, do you guys ever get shit going into one of these places to get blood drawn, or is there ever any prying small talk?Im nothing special and Im not trying to make myself out to be but not too many people find it a surprise I lift pretty seriously, and when I walk in the door asking for these specific blood tests, I'm sure they'll put 2 and 2 together and know what its for. TBH i couldn't care less, but because this is not done per a physicians orders, (the lab is essentially providing this to allow for the tests to be done) does it fall under the confidentiality that HIPPA would normally provide. In other words, these people are gonna know why Im there; is there anything they can do about it?

lol alright thanks guys, I appreciate the input. I wasn't overly freaked out or anything, its just my first time doing this, like I said they'll probably know the reason I'm there, I just wanted to get an idea of what to expect.
but ill definitely be more relaxed when I go in next week thanks to the responses so once again thank you.
Bro, relax, its a lab. U can talk to the phlebotomist all u want. Just don't discuss sources and importing illegal drugs and anything criminal. The people that work at a lab are not the steroid police! You keep going to the same place all the time and they will get to know you by name and it will all be very friendly.
I just had this happen when I had my blood taken a few weeks back.
The tech said, "Based on the tests you requested and the size of your arms, I know why you're here...steroids, right?" To which I replied, "Yes, is that cool." She said it was and that a lot of big guys come in for the same thing. I asked her to dinner sometime. Went out the next night. Dinner was great. So was breakfast at her place the following morning.
She says the labs guarantee confidentiality and could be sued if they were to disclose your results.
As long as you have a Drs requisition it's none of their damned business
yeah i don't care what they think/say when I walk in the door, i just don't want them to be able to do anything that might have legal ramifications and i wasn't sure if their requisition provided the same HIPPA confidentiality as if I had gone to a Dr and gotten it.
i did all my research on bloods, the values, what they mean, i just am now getting into the actual process of how one gets the test done so sorry if the questions come off as stupid. I understand the hard part lol.
I live in NE as well. I know what you are taking about. But honestly only ran across one hard ass. Most will give you a two second "talk". But all (100%) run the tests if requested. Safety first.

Ya they know why your there and I hope they can do anything bout it. If they can't then they won't be drawing your blood lol. If it's a private lab then it's private bro
