+ 1 Dumb Of Dumb Storage.
Yet another dumb tale from the gym tonight.
A guy walked into tonight, or I should say hobbled in and before he could get amongst the iron, his buddies asked him about his limp.
He said that he'd pinned up 1 ml of Sustanon 250 into his quad on Monday and ever since, his leg felt like it was on fire, was swollen and felt like it was getting worse as every hour passed.
He dropped his workout pants to show his buddies, I turned to look and his entire quad was just a HUGE red mass. I don't mean a slight discoloration, I mean a HUGE RED MASS, taking up the entire quad muscle of his right leg.
"F--king hell, Mate. What the hell did you do to yourself?" was I immediate response to what I saw.
His buddies all turned to see who'd made the comment, turned back to look at his leg, looked at each other, looked at me, looked at the leg, looked at the guy......... (You get the picture).
The guy went white with fear.
"I just pinned up, that's all", he mumbled, not knowing whether to pull up his pants, or just run/hobble out of the gym as quick as he could.
"You have a MAJOR infection in there, Mate. You NEED to get that looked at NOW, before you get septicemia or worse", I told him.
"Oh F....", was his reply as he and his buddies looked deeper at the leg.
"The gear must have been dirty", the guy mumbled.
"Where did you get the gear from? Who sold it to you?" one of the guys asked.
"Big Guy Joe sold it to me", he replied. (Big Guy Joe is obviously NOT his sources name, by the way).
I KNEW his source, personally. Before he was killed in a motorcycle accident over a year ago.
"But he's been dead over a year", I interrupted.
"I know. I bought it off him a few months before he was killed", the guy admitted.
"You've injected gear into you that is AT LEAST 14 months old? ARE YOU INSANE?" I asked him.
"Well I didn't want to waste it after I'd bought it", he replied.
I was stunned into silence.
One of his buddies interrupted the awkward silence and constant wants of closer looks at his leg by others in the gym and repeated that he needed to get his leg looked at.
"Oh F--k. The Mrs is going to go nuts. She thinks I'm no longer on the juice. I promised her I wouldn't take it again", the guy responded.
"Well she's going to find out now, Mate", I said as I picked up my towel, wiped off some sweat and started to get back to my workout.
AND THE DUMBEST ADMISSION WAS MADE.
"That's why I keep my gear in the car, so she won't find it".
PLEASE NOTE: I live in one of the sunnier states of the US, that has been enjoying a constant 80+F ON A DAILY TEMP BASIS for the past 6-8 months. Even when it rains, it doesn't drop much below 78 F. So you can imagine just how hot his car storage has been for his gear.
I just shook my head and walked away.
So the long and the short of it, this guy purchased gear over 12 months ago from his source. There's no knowing how old this gear was before he even purchased it. He stored his gear in his car at temps of 95+F over this past summer and he's wondering why his leg is as swollen as badly as it is. (I've seen some infections in my time using AAS, even in my own usage I've had some REAL beauties. But believe me, this guy's leg was GROSSLY painful looking).
Yes, we've probably all got some gear floating around in our homes that NEEDS to be thrown away. Old opened vials of gear that we didn't finish using when our cycles came to an end or when a cycle HAD to be brought to unexpected end and the like. But we know we're NOT, EVER going to use it again. For the sterility of the issue, if nothing else. Why don't we throw it away/ dispose of it properly? Who knows. Also, buying gear in advance for a future cycle, because we have funds available to do so at the time, I TOTALLY understand it, because I do it myself. FOR MY NEXT CYCLE. NOT FOR A CYCLE IN A YEARS PLUS TIME. As for storing my gear? STORE IT IN A COOL, DARK & SECURE PLACE. (I personally use a small beer fridge I purchased, that I have set at a constant 60F for my own storage needs for my oils, fitted with a padlock and clasp on the door for security too).
Pain brings it's own lessons in life that helps us to remember how to avoid them in the future. For sheer dumb stupidness, there's just no teaching some of 'em.
