Dbol and grapefruit juice

ad

After a bit of research, I found a few bits and pieces on dbol, it's absorption and grapefruit juice. The reason I did this was because I started my dbol cycle today and was starving hungry at the time I needed to dose. Taking any med on a full stomach is, in most cases, going to slow it's rate of absorption and I hate the idea of taking anything on an empty stomach.

This food-drug interaction was actually discovered by accident. A study that was intending to test the interaction of alcohol and a blood pressure medication used a mixture of alcohol with grapefruit juice to disguise the taste of alcohol for the study. Ironically, alcohol had no effect on the tested medication, but the grapefruit juice seemed to enhance the absorption of the drug. The researchers then confirmed the finding by comparing drug levels when taken with either grapefruit juice or water and found five-fold higher blood levels of the drug when it was taken with juice. Orange juice did not show this effect.

Grapefruit juice inhibits a special enzyme (CYP3A4) in the intestines that is responsible for the natural breakdown and absorption of many medications. When the action of this enzyme is blocked, the blood levels of these medications increase, which can lead potentially toxic side effects from the medications.

Research has suggested that flavonoids and/or furanocoumarin present in grapefruit are the substances that act to block the enzyme in the intestines that normally metabolizes many drugs.

Some medications that interact with grapefruit juice:

-Statins (Cholesterol Lowering Drugs)
-Antihistamines: Terfenadine
-Calcium Channel Blockers (Blood Pressure Drugs):
-Anti-convulsant: Tegretol (Carbamazepine)
-Anxiolytics: Valium (Diazepam)
-Anti-depressant: Sertraline Clomipramine
-Cortico-steroids : Methylprednisolone
-Oestrogens: Ethinyl estradiol
-Anabolic Steroids : Dianabol
-Impotence Drug: Viagra

Since I read this I started taking my Lixus Dbol with grapefruit juice. I started chewing them up then slugging down the grapefruit.

Anyone ever try chewing up Lixus Dbol yet?? They are damn near completely tasteless it seems. Is that normal?

Someone chew one up and tell me what it tastes like! LOL

Eww... do you chew your Dbol? It can only taste... powdery. Ugh!

I don't get it. Is grapefruit supposed to improve the Dbol's bioavailability, just make you absorb it faster or differently? It doesn't even sound like it's safe to take it that way (doesn't mean I'm not gonna try it as soon as I get back on Dbol next week since I like Dbol and I LOVE grapefruit.)

It makes any pharmaceutical absorb faster.

Having experimented for the last few days with it, I'd say that that rate of absorbption is increased and it's potency SEEMS to be somewhat increased. This is the first time I've tried Lixus though so it might just be that.

i knew that interaction with some meds but not all , nice. now the hard part is finding grapefruit juice thats not 10% juice and 90% sugar, water, and other shit (ive looked, i only found some in a natural foods store) . ruby red wont cut it

Thats something that I was thinking about also... I assumed it was either referring to specific compounds or 'up to' 5 fold. Dbol increased by 5 fold would be painful to say the least!

Based on my findings, I'd be happy to say I'm willing to carry on dosing with grapefruit juice and see what happens. Comments/experiences welcome but this was just something for anyone concerned with absorption with regards to food to think about.

"five-fold higher blood levels" ......whoa, its saying i only need to be taking 10mg of dbol a day if its with grapefruit juice and i will get the same net effect as taking 50mg without.?!!?....surely u jest sir!

either way if it increases it a little or a lot, i wish i'd known this a couple of weeks ago....still i have a little over a week of it left, so i better get my ass to the supermarket Biggrin
