Cycle and vasectomy

ad

Wondering about thoughts on being on a cycle and getting a vasectomy. I am 3 weeks from finishing my cycle and am scheduled for a vasectomy Friday. Should I cut it short or keep on till finished?

Don't push past doctors orders. take time to heal. If you're going to be holding ice packs on your nuts, you might as well do it during pct. I promise if you push too hard you'll regret it.
And my advice is be on the safe side, for the first 5 years, have your count checked. I never realized it, but there's a pretty high failure rate within those first years. I'm one of the lucky chosen ones. Nature won. If you want a good laugh I have an old post about my situation. It's stabilized, but it was all but awesome.

The procedure isn't really bad. I pushed too hard right after and regretted it. I really don't think that had much to do with my whole circumnavigation thing. Science can be a bitch.
I wouldn't do it on cycle myself. But I won't do it again anyway. Reading that old post made me realize how much I've grown in a couple years though. And how much gray hair I've earned. Lol

Other than not being able to work out for a few days it shouldn't be a problem.

I had it done last year, and although I was not on a cycle I wasnt down from the gym for long. Easy procedure, and only 2 days of sitting on ice. Wear tight underwear for support, and be conscious of your sack because it will be tender if bumped. Prolly should hold off of squat/deads/legsled for a few weeks.....but everything else should be doable to a lesser intensity.

The hormone itself shouldnt have any impact on the procedure or recovery. I am of course not a doctor, but the worse part of the procedure for me was thinking about it.

I just had mine done 8 weeks ago. Listen to what others have said and wear some briefs or boxer briefs as I prefer. I actually bought a jock strap and wore that for the first week on top of my boxer briefs just to be safe. I took a week off from the gym because of the associated straining involved in lifting. Day 8 I was right back at full force with no noticeable issues besides being a little fatigued. To answer your question, no I wouldn't cut your cycle short. You can probably get back in gym quicker than 8 days, just see how you feel.

Had mine done this past April while in the middle of a cycle and was fine. Had it done on a Friday and went back to work on that Monday. I also played it safe and took a week off from the gym. Just make sure to wear tight underwear like mentioned and keep a few bags of frozen peas to rotate for 3 days straight.

I got mine done 22 years ago. I got it done Friday back to work monday. Felt like i got hit with a sledge hammer in my nuts worse part was the anesthesia hurt like mo- fo.
I think being on cycle will not hurt anything but I'm no doctor.

I got neutered after my 3rd kid. Was a little nervous and not ashamed to admit I got a little emotional the day leading up to it but so glad I did it. It went to the gym the morning of the procedure. I'm not one to rest, ever, and I felt zero pain or discomfort during or afterwards so I was back in the gym the next day. No swelling and didn't even need a Tylenol. Nothing. I see no reason to cut it short but again I'm no medical expert which I believe told me to rest a few days but really can't recall.

Had a few friends with similar experiences as me and some that got all swollen. Maybe I was lucky or maybe it depends on the doc. I did go to the Chief Urologist at a big facility. Thought that was important.
