+ 6 Check your esters (half lives) and using test prop tapers

ad

So this will be a short and hopefully relatively simple post. Lately I've noticed way too many cycles being posted where guys are planning on stacking two or more compounds but are not paying sufficient attention to the ester length. In the last two weeks I have had to point this out on at least 4 separate occasions. It seems to be especially prevalent with EQ cycles. So my point is that part of ones research is to at the very least understand ester half lives and plan PCT around that. Even better is for everyone to get a rudimentary understanding of half life maths and graph their cycles so they can visualise this. This is basic stuff and if you are not able to know that you should be planning your PCT to start once all the compounds are effectively "out your system" then you have no business running the cycle/stack. And if stacking, you don't want your test levels dropping to zero while you still have another compound active given the likely negative sides you may get from low test which cannot be effectively compensated for with PCT due to another compound still being active.

This brings me onto my next point. One of the easiest and simplest ways to manage this is with a test prop taper. It amazes me how many people don't have a clue what I am talking about when I suggest this. Not only does it ensure you have enough test present while other longer ester compounds such as EQ are in your system but if done right it can help one ease into PCT. Again pretty basic stuff and if you don't know how it's done then do some research. To help this is how I would run a taper for a 16 week test EQ cycle:

Week 1 to 16 Test C 400mg EW
Week 1 to 16 EQ 600mg EW
Week 17 to 20 Test P 100mg EOD
Week 21 to 26 Clomid/Nolva PCT (I favour a long PCT for long cycles and because I'm over 40 and an old man)
AI as needed and tweaked by blood work

So in summary:

  • Always check the ester length of compounds being run
  • make sure that you have reasonable levels of test in your system right up to the start of PCT
  • don't start PCT until all compounds have effectively left your system - graph cycles using half life maths or a steroid graph tool to do this
  • consider the use of a test prop taper to help manage this process and make PCT a bit smoother.

Couldn’t agree more. Giardap has written some brilliant forums on PCT which are based on actual not bro science. It’s so unfortunate that today we still have Exp members on here spewing the standard start your PCT two weeks after your last pin and run clomid 100/100/50/50 and Nolvadex 40/40/20/20. If I new back then what I know now I’m certain I could have avoided TRT if not completely at least for a few more years.

I’m with you mate. Giardap and I are fully aligned on this too.

Appreciate the time you've taken here

Ah yes I saw that and had a little chuckle. I guess the point being guys shouldn't be anywhere near aas if they don't get the basics.

Me too bro. But I don't know why you're laughing. Half lives are no laughing matter :-p
