Annoying quad injection.......
I've been injecting into quads (and more recently added delts to prevent scar tissue) since I started juicing. Which wasn't all that long ago, but I've got a few cycles under my belt and like to think that I know what I'm doing. I've had it happen before where I put the needle into my thigh, but before I get to the point where I'd aspirate it just hurts like a motherfucker or my leg gets kind of odd and tingly and I pull out, switch needles, move over by an inch and proceed.
Today, this happened THREE TIMES in my right quad. I put the needle in three times, and each time it hurt much worse than it should, and just generally felt off. It's hard to explain the feeling but it's intense discomfort way beyond the simple fact that there was a needle in my leg.
Anyways after three failed attempts I got pissed off, switched legs and injected my left quad with no problems whatsoever.
The way I see it, there's three options.
- It's all in my head and I'm being stupid.
- I'm screwing up the injection somehow.
- Really, really bad luck.
Should I just nut up and do the injection anyway next time, provided there's no blood when I aspirate? I'm covered in tattoos and I'm not a queasy person; my pain tolerance doesn't suck. It just feels strange. Like my leg is about to twitch, but doesn't. Plus the pain was much worse, which makes me think something's wrong.
Also, there's no PIP at all in the leg that I injected, but my right quad hurts (possibly because I stabbed myself three times lol) but I digress.
For the record I'm using 25 gauge, 1-inch needles and I'm injecting the outer portion of my quad. I hope this isn't one of those "I'm sticking a needle and a bunch of oil into my leg, why does it hurt???" type of threads.

I've talked about this and a few other guys agreed when we've hit veins we feel this odd sore tingly sensation.. I know your not sposta be able to feel it when you hit a vein but i always do.. Quads are veiny.. I can go for weeks and get them on the first try.. one day I had to re pin 5-6 times until finally I said screw it and did a delt.
safest most painless place to inject is ventro-gluteal In my opinion. No vessels to hit and much less nerves
Try having your leg at a 130 degree angle as you are seated. Also do not inject the very outer part since there are lots of nerves there.
When people say outer they mean muscle furthest from your crotch. So when you are looking down at your quad it is actually in the VERY MIDDLE. Try injecting there and not so far on the side of your leg, but rather more in the middle between the top of your knee and your hip
IMO this is not good advice. Look at a map of nerves veins and arteries and see where they all lye.
Also a map of the arteries is not necessary because the arteries are located deeper. If bodyfat is low enough you should be able to EASILY see veins, (I can, since my bf is low) and the nerves are actually more down the side if you look at a map.
Which is why middle works well as long as you are not going too deep and have low enough bf to see veins which is very easy to avoid

It all depends on how you look at it. He's still injection the upper outer. But from looking at your own leg it appears to be more in the middle. If you stand in front of a mirror and flex you can see it is more outer.
I've done at least 100 injections there with no problems.
it really is just the angle at which you are looking at it and have your feet placed. When you stand with toes facing out it is the "upper outer muscle" when viewed at a mirror or something.
lpetShit eh, I've really been doing it on the actual fully outer part. I'll definitely try pinning what seems like the "centre" when looking downwards. Thanks a lot dude, that seems like solid advice.
inject in your glutes
it can be because your not fully relaxed when your injecting, that can cause more tearing of the muscle which will cause pain
lpetThat's definitely possible, thanks. I'll try to be completely relaxed next time I inject.
I use 25 x 1 into quads eod for Weeks now. Describe location further and gear please. Enanthates? Prop? Sitting? I love quads pins. But yes they're particular. Click my name...check my forums. Fil me in. full procedures.
lpetI swab the top of the vial, and the injection site. Then I give it a few minutes for the alcohol to evaporate so it doesn't burn more. During this time I usually pull the oil into the syringe. Then I put the needle in, aspirate, and try to inject at approximately 1mL/second. The gear was Test Enanthate, though that shouldn't matter since the problem was before I injected at all, just when I put the needle in.
And I use the outer/upper quad, I don't know enough anatomy to be more specific than that. But I aim for the area shown in www.spotinjections.com/
AnonStand up and let your hands naturally fall to your side...unless you have amazing posture, they shouldnt fall to the complete outside of the thigh. Where your middle finger is should be a good spot. Sit down and after prepping everything, grab a chunk of your thigh meat and pinch it up and pin with a 25x1 as Fast said. Once you have it in, release your thigh with your hand and begin your process with you aspirate
Heat oil. Put into shots glass with hot tap water at least 5mins with hot tap flowing. Seated! Hit the quad. 30 seconds per cc. I go 45-60. Enanthate warmed and super slow shouldn't hurt at all. Should have to search for last pun spot.
lpetDude the injections hurt without any oil in it! I've specified that like three times now. I put the needle in, it felt wrong, and I pulled the needle out without injecting. Three times. Then I pinned the other leg and injected with no problems. And yes, I always heat the oil before an injection.
Like its statEd above...youre not hitting outer sweep near the hams? That midlune? That area sucks! I hit high...med and low outer quad. Seated.....the outer quad at 1:30...bang! I hit wuads near hams on the 1inch sweep by hams....holy crap it hurts. Injecting s steel rod into thigh is an abnormal act! Point pin to sky...one dribble oil to LUBE pin...1:30 position mid outer sweep...bingo. I hit 3in above...mid...below 3inches....no problem. But the spot seated at 3:00 near hams....holy shit. So either no quads or man up.
1ml/second!! ouch!! u need to take at least 30 seconds per ml
lpetHahaha FUCK. I meant 1mL/minute. I think only Drago from Rocky IV can go 1mL/sec.
Read my forums...they help.
arite good lol, anyway when i inject my quads i sit straight up on my bed with my back against the wall so my legs are straight out in front of me, i find they are the most relaxed in that position, never have any issues like this..
Does it feel jolt like almost electric shock?
lpetYes!!!! Does that mean it's close to a nerve? If so, the chances of that happening three times in a row should be really slim, no?
Take a look here you will see the location of major nerves in the quads. My guess is you are not far enougn to the lateral side of the quad.

sounds like you're hitting a nerve to me. how far apart are the injects when you move and where on the quad are you pinning?
lpetThey were about an inch apart each. I'm pinning outer/upper quad, unfortunately can't be more specific than that.
Anonmake sure its not like 3 oclock outer and more 1:30 like fast said...and I always do more in the middle, again where my hand natural falls to my side
bro lern how to eject other leg,you can use glutes, also and delts.legs are pain full at times becuse of nerves.I like to medate before shot.somtimes if pian gets bad take time off.use 23x 1.5 for legs

Funny yws...but many of us are pen raised with no real school.......
lpetThat's definitely fair bro. I mostly laughed because once I saw eHow on the link I expected to see "How to inject". Then it hit me.
just helping a brother out lol all in good humor bro
I lol'd myself ;)
