Here’s a very interesting article about alcohol on your androgen receptor sure a cycle.
Oh, this is my favorite topic to discuss. I have rarely met a forum where you are not really judged from the fact that you once used or continue to use drugs. Now I'm just happy that this stage in my life was in the past. I used a lot of drugs and in different versions of it. Most of all, I liked ecstasy pills. Let's be honest, it's convenient and the effect is what you need. So I lost three years of my life. Now I regret it, but before I didn't care. I was lucky to have a brother, he is the one who saved me from this vicious circle. He (forcibly) took me to specialized programs. https://www.abbeycarefoundation.com/. In general, he saved my sinful soul.
Shrugs
sips ice cold IPA
Interesting topic, I'll definitely be putting more thought into this while on cycle from now on
I'll never understand why people drink when on cycle, to me running gear is saying to yourself for X number of weeks that you are going to do and consume everything you can to bring you to your absolute best. Drinking on cycle is as bad as saying I won't bother taking any Liver or Kidney support or other health supps to support healthy blood etc. And I'll go to Pizzahut 2 nights a week ....
BigCactusSo do those androgen receptors get upregulated again when you stop drinking? Interesting research for sure.
This is a good read.
Is there a link I'm supposed to see?
Alphamale500Imo, an occasional drink isn't going to harm you or diminish your gains by any significant means. Infact, there's a beneficial aspect to drinking in moderation. Consumed in moderation, research shows alcohol can actually help increase our HDL "good" cholesterol levels. However, heavy drinking can certainly have a negative impact for those of us who train regularly, in multiple ways.
Alcohol consumption has been shown to impair nutrient absorption by decreasing digestive enzymes. Without healthy digestive function, your body will be unable to fully benefit from healthy food, nutrients etc. Heavy drinking can also alter hormone levels and increase activity of the aromatase enzyme, stimulating the conversion of testosterone into estrogen.
Alcohol consumption can also reduce metabolism and decrease our ability to burn fat. Alcohol impairs muscle protein synthesis (MPS) impeding our muscle growth, despite consuming optimal nutrition from a healthy diet. So, heavy alcohol consumption may cause a major setback in gains, and reaching your fitness goals.
Imo, having an occasional drink shouldn't interfere with your training protocol. But certainly heavy drinking, or even moderate drinking is not be the best decision for someone who's training to reach their fitness goals, especially with AAS.
Iron_Bound1Alpha you should list your source for this info. You should always cite your sources.
Alphamale500Smfh! You got some balls bro! Are you trying to say that I copied and pasted this?
Iron_Bound1I am. I looked at your profile previously and posts. That’s not your writing style or words. Don’t get upset. Just cite the source
Then google his remarks and find where he plagiarized it.
He obviously did some fact checking before he posted but as far as I can tell, he summarized and post in his own words.
Don’t get upset if someone posts their own opinion. It dosn't detract from your post. That's how discussions and debates work. I'll bet there is a good happy median where modest light drinking may have benefits that outweigh the negative affects outlined in the study you posted.
Iron_Bound1Possibly but you should still cite where it came from. It’s obvious it’s not written completely by him.
Quite literally google it. I did. How many links should he post a reference to? one? three? thirty-five? Should he give credit to his high school or collage?
If you look at the highlighted keywords in the google search, almost every link has the same content. (Did they all plagiarize each other?) There is not one full sentence exactly like what alphamale has posted anywhere else in the quick search I made.
Iron_Bound1Why was 4 karma taken from me? I assume it was alpha but maybe not. You should be able to have a debate without being penalized.
You are correct. I've restored your karma.
Iron_Bound1Thank you brother. You are a fair man. Much respect to you.
Iron_Bound1Ok I understand. I see I looked it up he took bits and pieces and put it out there.
And, if you notice those same bits and pieces are everywhere else too... "common knowledge" or plagiarism?
This isn't a college thesis, eroids is only concerned that we are not posting plagiarized content.
Iron_Bound1You are correct
Drinking is stupid to me...
Bang'emDrinking makes me sick as anything, it does not matter how many or what I drink the next day I am as sick as a dog.I have not had a drink in almost 10 years
RustyhookerFigure that your liver has to filter everything...common sense. As your liver gets stressed, then everything the liver does gets tilted. Carbs, insulin, igf, filtering properly and all the other hormone areas that depend on livers balance. Then passes thru kidneys which is already stressed on high protein diets. Passing all the ammonia and now more toxins.
Everything in moderation. Enjoy life but pick a goal. Hydrate....
++ hydration
RustyhookerI mess up hydration in the winter often. Its cold outside where i work and thirst just doesnt pop into the picture until headache starts
It’s game over after that...I’ve been caught a couple times this summer. Just easier to go get a bag or two of fluids
RustyhookerAgree!! Found out too that clean foods with low salt plus outdoors labor or sports and you sweat out the salt faster. I got into the bad habit of eating the low sodium sunflower seeds in the hot season. Gatorade works easier though and no cheek burn. Lol
Iron_Bound1Don’t over hydrate. Water toxicity is deadly. You guys are a world of knowledge. Good shit
Alphamale500That's very true. Water toxicity can absolutely be deadly! I remember some years back, there was this radio contest about who can drink the most water in the shortest amount of time, or something to that effect.
Anyway, long story short, one of the contestants actually died from ingesting too much water. That's right, they literally died from water toxicity. Of all the things you can ingest that can be deadly, right? Very shocking, that's for sure!
+
Iron_Bound1I remember that. What idiots! The ones who promoted that contest.
RustyhookerTrue! ^^^^ Also if you over hydrate in order to drop water...prep....your body flushes too fast. Massive headache will kick in and it sucks! Followed with your kidneys protecting your system by raising aldosterone which stops the flushing so now you hold water. Compounding the issue. Electrolyte imbalance, dizzy, heart palps...etc etc...
Iron_Bound1I found out the hard way
RustyhookerKnowledge bumps bro. Makes you that much wiser
Iron_Bound1I hear ya. I’m one of those fools that say “ that won’t happen to me”
Good answer +
RustyhookerLil balance in life.... i enjoy a fat cigar too when i can
Dose makes the poison, so if you have one beer when going out to dinner one week then you will probably be okay if you aren't running a ton of orals. If you drink normally, however, I wouldn't suggest it.
I can't see any link but here is my opinion:
Drinking during a cycle is bullshit, u run gear to grow and with alcohol you reduce the effect of getting more muscular. During a cycle where u use substances they increase your IGF1 its anyway a taboo.
Iron_Bound1I’m not a drinker at all. You when you go out you always see gear heads pounding drinks. At least where I live.
Here's the link bud:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/3669912/
Totally agree with you also - Anyone who still wants to get pissed whilst on cycle shouldn't be cycling at all including taking recreational drugs. Heart attack central.
Iron_Bound1I never thought of that aspect. Good point
Thanks bro!
correct!
Alcohol is a drug. Like any other drug. It can consume you if you allow it to. It has been my worst enemy and my best friend. To those fighting an addiction and those recovering, keep your head high and focus on your goals.
I always used to set aside one night a week for drinking lol. It didn't interfere with anything in the gym.
That’s what I do. But I don’t get shitfaced or anything. Just a couple glasses of wine with dinner once a week. Sometimes a good beer or two instead. Sometimes I skip it all together.
I always make sure I don’t train the day after. Even with a small hangover, or just a little more tired than normal, I can’t be risking a half assed day in the gym
I haven't read the article, but in all honesty alcohol should be a hard no on cycle regardless. If your going to risk your health and to a lesser degree legal well being to go on cycle, there is no need in consuming anything that will do anything other than support the goals you laid out prior to starting your cycle.
Last time I rode a bike and drank I broke my arm so no booze while on cycle for me
Iron_Bound1Good idea 333. Was if stationary? That would be hilarious otherwise happy you are alive
Lmfao yeah it was stationary
..... tbh mate the further i go into this article u found - does make interesting reading but its gettin late now n need rest unfortunately - actually not too bad a study mate, i keep reading it looking for something that might expand my knowledge
