AAS affect genetics

ad

Does taking AAS change your natural limit?

For example, let's say a person's natural weight limit for 8% bodyfat is 230 pounds, and he weighs about 180.

Let's say he cycles once and does his PCT properly, hit 250 pounds at 8% bodyfat (magic gear).

It's clear that he will lose his gains once he stops taking steroids. Let's say that he has perfect diet, and recovery.

  • Will he decay to his natural limit at 230, or will taking steroids permanently change one's natural limit: making him drop further and never being able to achieve 230 naturally?

  • Also, will it change the way he makes gains forever?
Since his body was exposed to steroids, it will be shocked at how low his test levels are, and they might not respond to training with natural test, or will the body get used to the low test over time, and he will be able to make the gains he previously did (this is assuming that he dropped to less than his natural limit)?

For anyone worried that I'm an imbecile asking for first cycle advice, the person in the story is not me, this is just a theoretical to make my question more clear.

I agree with the answers given- no steroids will not change your overall genetic potential. However, the gains you make with steroids and coming off of them and what you can keep over time naturally is more complex and is variable person to person. For example, I remember for a sports physical when i was 17 years-old I was 6' and 165lbs. Im the classical hard-gainer ectomorph. In my late 20's when i first experimented with AAS I jumped to around 185-190 and then held that for 12+ years without using anything. This sort of plateau that I reached I would argue is more than I would ever have made naturally, and I kept it without the drugs. It seems to depend on your body type. Hard gainers gain slow but keep what they earn. Endomorphs pile on mass but lose it as easily with a layoff. There is so much individual variation it just depends person to person.

No steroids don't change your genetics. All it does is enhance what u already have. There is no magic pill or steroid. People and this thinking of if I take steroids I'll gain 50 pounds magically and look like Mr Olympia. Wrong it's about years of hard work and dedication and get this the diet that dictates how your cycle goes. Smh it's not magic it doesn't change your dna or genetics. It's a a small tool used to enhance what the good Lord gave u. If it worked like u had up top everyone would look like Ronnie coleman. Sorry but when someone post bout (magic gear) it fires me up we need to get past all these stereotypes bout steroids and if your 180 pounds and your natural potential is 50 pounds more than that u shouldn't be using steroids. No cycle is goin to take u from 180 pounds to 250 smh NOT MAGIC

The magic gear statement was a joke, saying that the gear has to be magic in order for this transformation to happen lol.

I used such drastic numbers in order to make my question easier to answer.

Thanks for responding anyways.

No It doesn't alter your genetic potential. Like in your example of you juice up to 250 and come off you will return back down to 230. You can fight it for a while but despite perfect diet and training regimens you will go back to what your natural hormones can support.

That number for me seems to be settling in at around 224-225. I will run all the way up to almost 240 on cycle. I will say tho that the strength gains seem to stick much better than the weight does.
