sterilize?
ad
Ok, what I'd like to know is this: Say you are homebrewing and you buy presealed vials (to ensure they are sterile, then just cut off tops and replace stopper/crimp)a crimper, crimp flip-tops, and butyl rubber stoppers. How do you sterilize the rubber stoppers? i dont want to sound stupid by thinking 'you don't sterilize them', although i could be wrong maybe you dont, but if you do have to, how should it be done? immerse them in isopropyl alcohol? SRY to any of you out there that already 'know' this, just remember the only stupid question is the one that isnt asked. Thx guys

AnonIf you buy the pre sealed vials.. why not use that?
Unless your trying to sell?
Soak rubber stoppers in isopropyl alcohol for 1 day just to be sure dry them in the oven low heat on a wiped down piece of foil..
You will need to types of crimpers, a decrimper and a flipoff crimper.
but what your trying to do is too much work..
Hmm I see, well maybe ill just buy uncapped vials and sterilize them myself in the oven
AnonMake sure you soak them in alcohol for a couple of hours..
Wht i do is soak them in alcohol for a day and autoclave them for 40-60min
Ok cool thx bro +1
