Anyone have any experience with back loading and infection? Seems like back loading leaves opportunity for bacteria to contaminate the solution. How safe is back loading?

Thats something I recently learned on a course for work that stuck in my head. That quote was in regards to fixing a watermain break while under positive pressure, and thats a lot of pressure. So there is definately an oppurtunity for bacteria to enter the solution.
Do you mean pulling the plunger all the way out of the back and filling the barrel that way? I actually do that all the time. Probably not recommended though. But I've never had an issue with an abcess or infection.
AnonYeah that's what I mean. I'm slin pinning daily and I simply can't draw with a slin pin so I back load. What do you do with the plunger after you pull it out? Do you hold it or put it down on a (hopefully) sanitary surface?
Basically my process is I pull with a new pin and syringe, then pull the plunger out of the slin pin and hold it in the air. Then I shoot the gear in the back of the insulin syringe. You've probably already noticed that there's gonna be an air bubble in the back of the slin syringe. Just get the plunger started back in and flip it over so the bubble works it's way to the pin. Like I said, maybe this isn't the most sanitary method but I've never had a single issue with it. Plus I'm a grown man. I do what I want.
This is how I do it, zero problems so far
That's my philosophy. If something happens then I'll change my process. Until then, it works so I'm gonna continue doing it this way.
I'm not losing any sleep over it, I have friends that have done it for 5 years plus without a single problem.

Actually haven't hit them yet. I broke both biceps and triceps in this week. Tomorrow I'm gonna hit calves or pecs. I'll let you know. Probably best I do it on the weekend in case I can't walk haha
