Disposing of Syringes & Needles

ad

i use to dispose of my syringes and needles at the local hospital, but unfortunately they can no longer do that. should i just throw mine in the trash or is there a more proper way of disposing used syringes and needles?

Read your local town laws. In mine, the rule says I can place in trash if i use a container with a twist cap, seal the lid with something like duct tape and right on the outside "sharps do not recycle"

I use a empty liquid laundry soap container, when full i take it camping and incinerate it in campfire. Takes about 5 mins before all plastic is burned up. Had used a old chrome plating shop for years who had a incinerator they fired up a couple of times a year, but they moved.

I NEVER put mine in my trash/garbage, this where LE will look to bust you. This how the goods were had on some local juicers. I hand carry mine to a communal dumpster.

order a sharps container from any vet supply like " Revival animal health .com" bout $15 then fill it with old needles and drop it off at your local vets office. You use it for your animals for vaccines and shots and medications. No questions asked.

Damn am I the only one who goes to the needle exchange?

Bent the needle with the cap and replace the cab so the needle is folded in half, no one will be able to even get the cap off because the needle catches it and even if they can get it off, no one can use it! At that point, you can just throw it away, the styringe is not dangerous.

My sharps have a cover that slides and locks in to place and is a bitch to get off, so I just throw em' in the trash....

I put mine with the cap on in a milk jug and then trash on trash day.

I've been doing the same thing.

I used to use one of those 1 litre Ice Breaker Coffee milk jugs. You know the brown ones? Anyway, I now use normal sharps containers as the proper ones you cannot unscrew the top of them. I then take them to the local hospital and usually say "Hey, I found this in a park, Don't know what's in it, you might want to just get rid of it)
But now I use the local needle exchange and it's for all free syringes & pins and sharp containers are the way to go. They ARE FREE! also no questions asked!

Funny bro, I throw mine in YOUR neighbors trash!

WashingtonsGreedy's picture

thanks for all the feedback. thought i would try an be civil about this by taking it to some medical facility that can properly dispose of it, but they want to be dousches about it so i'll throw mine in my local water source as well. if the epa complains then i'll let them know they need to get on the medical facilities to allow disposal of used syringes and needles. fucking idiots, this pisses me off, what do they think will happen by not accepting this shit, people will use less needles therefore depleting the abuse on drugs hence helping the so called war on drugs.

ahaha ohh man.

I use a gallon jug with screw on lid. I put the caps back on all points. When it fills up I put it in a black back and tie it up and in trash.

shark460's picture

I do the same thing bro.

My local municipalities directed me to my local hospital for disposal of medical waste . My local hospital directed me to my local municipalities ??? Finally township said as long as they are in a puncture proof container, like 56too mentioned, then just throw it in a bag and toss it in the trash. ( not in recyclable bin )

Get a sharps container and put them in there, then give them to your local needle exchange.

AlphaTiger2011's picture

Ive never heard of a needle exchange, I'm gonna have to look into that. When I'm at work I just throw them in the river but at home they go in the trash can, I would get a sharps box but when company comes over there gonna be like what the fuck is this but then again I guess I could hide it

Muffintop315's picture
