Shaving
i need a females perspective on this subject. i like to be hair free in all the great sensitive areas, but i cant escape razor burn. when i use a blade it doesnt matter how many blades it has, how much shaving cream i use, how slow i go, how much rubbing alcohol used post shaving, i always end up with razor burn. and the most frustrating part about it is that the razor burn takes MONTHS to go away. i even went to the extent of buying product for treating razor burn, and that doesnt help. i have switched to an electric shavor as it seems i can get away with less razor burn with that. i have heard of some hair removal products like the nono, but i believe that has mixed reviews. is there any great insight you ladies can provide me with on this subject?

A few yrs back, I purchased a laser hair removal unit. There is the initial cost plus some replacement bulbs occasionally. If you can handle the slight stinging sensation when you push the button, your hair will be gone a few months later, depending on the thickness.
Ok I just posted in another thread and I am a Hairstylist of 20 years....I used to get severe razor burn. It's caused from thee coarseness of your hair.I have waxede alot of men it can be painful ;).try looking up a cleanser called Cyclic.you can buy it on Amazon. It is amazing.Almost every male client I have uses it to shave their face ,body and twig and berries lol!!!!
ok all this advice applies to lady parts, but there is nothing more delicate than that so if it works for them it has to work for you!
1) exfoliate lightly with a loofah or something immediately after shaving (LIGHTLY is key). exfoliate lightly every day after! DO NOT SCRUB HARD
2) use Tend Skin (will burn like hell but helps)
3) always use fresh razors on delicate areas
4) Seiko Clean Cut is a very good personal shaver. First need to trim the hair down to 0.5cm or less but works really well for maintenance
5) Sometimes a produce with a very low salicylic acid percentage like you find in acne sections of the pharmacies applied daily can help--also exfoliates (like 0.5%, you do not want something like Retin-A, that is too harsh).
exfoliation keeps the hairs from getting trapped and ingrown, but you walk the line between keeping things exfoliated and irritating the area too much and making the razor burn worse.
I used to get bad razor burn all the time but if you keep shaving regularly your skin will get used to it. I can now shave the "delicate" areas without issue, when I first started it was VERY bad.
waxing is a good method but can get $$$ and you have to deal with the in-between period where your hair is long enough to be visible but not long enough to be waxed. NOTHING is as smooth as waxing though (except laser but havent done that myself)
thanks for shedding some light on this. its definitely an irritating subject for me so i am willing to try anything out.
ok so pretty much try the hot water trick, and if that doesnt work then i guess its either lazer hair removal or im screwed, and right now the funds tell me i would be screwed.
Hot water should do it bro. Shave as you in the shower still letting the hot water run thru your body should have no problems
I used to get serious razor burn on my chest and still do with underarms. I began to wax my chest, stomach, and arms, only shaving my underarms and pubic area but one has to allow the hair to grow a certain length to wax, which I hated. Next, I turned to Nair -- my apartment smelled like rotten eggs for a good 24 hours and the substance would burn my skin if I left it on too long. I bared this for a good month and then went back to shaving. After waxing and using nair, my skin grew more accustom to hair removal and now I no longer suffer from razor burn. I'm not saying this is a guarantee fix, but it did work in my circumstance. Good luck.
AnonWhat they said VVVVVVV ;-)
Bro get in the shower, get in the water for about 5mins (make sure the water is as hot as u can tolerate) after 5mins of hot water running thru your body, your pores should be widely open and you can shave with simply using soap.
TxBigBoyThis is what I do, I shave my entire body fucking hate hair and I'm a hairy beast! Make sure your going with the grain on your pubs. You won't get as close of a shave but it will cut down on razor burn. Also don't let your girl get on top for atleast 24 hours after shaving. That friction will cause bad razor burn
I do hate body hair as well. Im not that that hairy but i don't shave simply because Im not big and ripped lol.
Same here and when im on gear my back gets nasty hairy !!
TxBigBoyDude im scared because the only place I dont have hair is my back. But now when Im ON I'm getting it too. My wife has been pulling out the long black ones but I don't see her shaving it every week. Maybe you can come over every week and we can shave each others back lol
Ok but make sure you use enough gel and be gentle lol. We can let the wifes watch lol
TxBigBoylmao sounds good to me
Ok i think is time for "no homo" lol
TxBigBoyhaha right on brother, no homo indeed
Baby, I would shave your back every week. After all you have shaved certain parts for me when my pregnant belly wouldn't allow me to reach them! Plus, I really don't like hairy backs!
TxBigBoyAww thats sweet. Oooo maybe we can get it on video and make some money on those shaving fetish sites, just saying
Alright, now you're taking this too far! Get out of the Ladies Lounge!
Agreed. Always shave with the grain on pubic areas. Also, not only is a good razor important, but so is a really good shave gel. Make sure it's a gel base for sensitive skin. That's helps too. I wouldn't use Nair or some of those other products. They will break you out more than shaving. The No-No is very expensive. It's $200 and the blades have to be replaced monthly. They are expensive as well and it can take a long time before the hair doesn't come back. Basically, it would end up costing the same to use the No-No as laser hair removal.
1jakd_hipyMan up and get waxed
I know this is going to sound funny, but it works on me, and I got this tip from an ex gf. Use a white chalky deodorant on areas that you shave immediately after shaving. This works when I trim my hedges, nomsaying.
