I like old school pyramid sets training. For example,
Bench press lifts. I'll start off light with 135lbs to warm-up and get the blood pumping into the pecs and triceps. Then every set bump up 20lbs up say 225lbs.
Then I'll do a max set depending how strong I'm feeling that day lol . Then I'll go back down to 135lbs and rep out as many as I can for a burn down set to get a really good pump and burn. This is relatively how l do all of my sets for every muscle group to again warm-up and get blood flow into the muscle group l'm training also to avoid any injuries.

Have you ever used a reverse pyramid? The only problem I have with standard pyramids is that you're doing seemingly endless warm up sets. By the time you get to your top sets, you're no doubt handling less weight than you could have. A reverse pyramid lets you hit your top set sooner. In theory, this means you'll lift heavier weight. Of course, you're still warmed up, you just hit your top sets sooner.

RustyhookerI like pyramids. You can hit 90-120seconds if youre headed towards heavier pr or drop to 60secs breaks fir volume. Currently hitting the 90seconds-ish and pyshing back towards 390 for reps...not max pr.

VenumI usually spend about 1 1/2 to 2 hours a day in the gym.
