+ 1 What are your pre cycle red flags?
ad
Is there anything that would make you back up and say maybe I should postpone this for a few months until I get ‘X’ to a level I should?
Maybe for orals it would be BUN or liver values? I’ve heard most orals are liver processed, but Var is sort of kidney processed.
What about lipids? How good do you want your lipid levels?
Just curious what gives you guys pause. I just had bloodwork done and I’m curious to see what exactly the big boys look at. I live fairly clean so I’m not really worried, but it would be nice to know your criteria for if you’re ready or not.

BUN is just a measure of how hydrated you are bud, so it can be up or down depending on the day and temperature outside etc. I would definitely look at your eGFR though and see how well your kidneys are filtering the blood, if this is running lower than it should be then it rules out a lot of compounds as many do affect the level even further when using them. Only ones that don't seem to bring it down much are Test and NPP I have found. For sure ALT and AST need to be healthy, if they are already high then you will soon be stalling as you will encounter eating difficulty and possible stomach pain. Blood fat levels, WBC, Haemoglobin and the rest need to be in range ideally.
Huh my doctor told me high bun levels could indicate lower kidney function.
It would make sense though. Lower urea if you’re pissing more.
It can indicate other problems definitely, but its my understanding that eGFR is always the main one you should be checking in bloodwork each time. I have had BUN numbers that one day are low and the next high where there is no real consistency/relation to anything. Now I am sure some guys will wade in here and say that eGFR means nothing as we lift weights so creatinine levels are naturally higher, we carry more muscle and that we consume more protein etc which is all true, but at the same time I have seen very big muscular guys on here get consistently high eGFR results and guys that carry less muscle get low filtration levels - So my opinion is you should always check it. Livers generally recover and regenerate, where as kidneys don't. You will see a lot more guys on Dialysis than needing liver transplants that have run steroids.
When she starts giving me the silent treatment
Mine stays on the pills year round so thankfully I skip that cycle
Bless her heart
If my hematocrit is high or my blood pressure isn’t in check then I’m not fucking about I’m getting them down before I get on
What @anvil said. Also, my insulin sensitivity. I wanna see a robust glycemic response before I even consider turning up
This is not a game that any of us are going to win. We all lose. The only difference is how bad
How do you test that? I’ve gotten my A1C measured but I don’t think I’ve gotten insulin resistance as like a specific test before ever.
Do you do like a bunch of blood sugar tests like a diabetic would?
Yup I do this as well. The finger pricks aren’t bad. Having a glucose monitor I find myself checking several times a day for shits and giggles. I’ll also check my BG before my HGH shots to make sure I’m in a fasting range. If I’m 85-90 then I’ll do my HGH shot. Otherwise I’ll wait. Have never had BG issues running growth no matter the dose doing this.
Your A1C is a snap shot of last the three months. A good metric but not the end all
Correct. At certain times, taking multiple, daily BG readings is habit that will serve you well in our sport
anvilPre cycle as long as everything is range I am a go. Anything not I am cruising until it gets fixed.
