+ 8 Favorite Carb Source?

ad

What’s your favorite source of carbs?

Now sometimes throwing shitty potatoes in the air fryer and nuking minute rice is all you can do, and it works! What is your favorite though?

Bonus points for recipes and outside the box ideas!

Potatoes, rice (so much rice LOL) and sourdough. But I also eat a shit ton of noodles (Asian wife), man am I lucky she loves to cook for me. Everything is clean, but so much variety of flavor.

Also been on a rice cake kick lately post workout, the chocolate ones from Quaker. Couple of em after my post wo meal. Might even keep these in next cut, low calorie way to kill the sweet tooth.

Bodybuilders often talk about the "meat & potatoes" excercises like SQuats & Bench.
Strange not enough Bodybuilders dont actually consume potatoes. Nutrient for nutrient potatoes demolish Rice, oats, breads, & pastas.
Also please take into consideration that ALL American commercial factory farms produced wheat and oats that are not specifically labeled organic are ALL sprayed with dangerous cancer causing poison glyphosate
right before harvest.
So when you enjoy your morning oatmeal you are essentially consuming a giant hot bowl of poison.
Potatoes are easy to grow and easier to prepare and are not covered with poison. Makes the choice real simple.

Then American companies cover those grains in sugar and sell it to families. Kids eat that shit (poisoned grains covered in sugar) before they start their day at school.. then people complain that they can’t concentrate….so what do we do?? Prescribe them a meth derivative hahahahah
Then the school feeds them more poisoned shit in the cafeteria

Yes sir. You know the drill. Cover them fresh glyphosate grains with some high fructose corn syrup peoduct & sprinkle is some petroleum derived Blue #1 & have yourself a nice America breakfast.

Mine are probably plain white rice and boiled yellow potatoes…

If we’re talking more “processed” carb sources, I’d say bagels/dough-type foods for sure.

I’m kind of old-school with nutrition honestly:
high protein
moderate/high carb depending on the phase
lower fat

Usually I keep fats mostly from the food sources themselves and rarely go out of my way to add extra oils/fats intentionally. Most of the time my fats sit around 10% of total calories.

Of course there’s a million ways to approach nutrition and no single “perfect” setup… I just personally don’t seem to perform or digest as well on higher fat diets.

BTW … On free meals/refeeds/cheat meals though… I absolutely allow myself to enjoy and try foods completely outside my normal routine LMAO just with a little common sense involved.

Exactly the same here man. That old school way has always worked for me when I dial it in, so I’ve never felt the need to change it long term. “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”!

White or sweet potatoes tossed in olive oil and coated in garlic powder, salt , pepper and onion powder, baked at 380 for 20 mins and then air fried until crispy on the outside. I usually have that with taco beef 1 cup potatoes to 5oz beef.

Lol I like how yours turned out better looking than mine... Hell yes.

Lemme know how they are mane!

Speaking my language. So easy and always tasty.

I’m old school. High protein, mid-high carbs, and low fat. That’s my diet most of the time.

Boiled sweet potatoes (because I find it much quicker/easier than baking them and it results in a slightly lower GI) with white rice. It's a nice sweet/salty combo if you like sweet rice. Been using it with some chicken breast as my preworkout meal on high carb days for the past few months and I still haven't grown tired of it.

Sweet potatoes are slept on by many! I prefer white, but sweet have great macros and can taste just as good or better depending on preparation! Sounds like a solid meal.

I absolutely love them. They keep my inner fat kid at bay lol. Only problem I have is finding enough. During the off season I eat about 9 pounds of them a week.

Man I love it as an easy answer. Some pink salt, pepper and low sodium/zero calorie taco seasoning is all they need. This was mid cook I like them browned/crunchy on the outside but soft inside.

Sounds amazing! I never got super into cream of rice but I could see that working great! I do similar with oatmeal/oats pretty often. Mixing in protein powders, fruits, yogurts, PB powder, etc.

Great example of something that can be a savory lunch side or a post dinner sweet dessert!
