+ 1 Muscle and weight gain
I have chronic pancreatitis and avascular necrosis. Left total hip replacement September 25, 2025. Right hip is partially collapsed. I have severe fatigue. Legs generally hurt like lower leg muscles. I can go for a mile and my legs will be wore out for a good 4 days. I use to be a huge runner and be able to run a 5 minute mile. Have done a few 100 mile bike rides. I was in really good shape with all kinds of energy. In high-school I was the strongest on baseball team. Besides bench press. Was never worth a darn at that. I am looking to get the energy back and build muscle. Willing to take whatever especially in the beginning and I'm getting a gym membership this week. But firdt I need to get legs built up walking. Main reason for not getting right hip replaced right now but it does not bother me much. My main goal at beginning is energy and weight gain and muscle strength. Looking for recommendations on where to start to reduce fatigue and gain muscle fast. I am getting more protien. I was taking 60 grams a day and seen no gain. But little exercise do to fatigue. Thanks in advance.

That rules out most orals immediately. For someone in your situation honestly the foundation has to come before anything else. At 60g protein a day you are leaving serious recovery potential on the table - with your muscle loss and fatigue you need closer to 150-180g daily minimum. That alone will make a noticeable difference before anything else. On the fatigue - have you had your testosterone levels checked recently? Avascular necrosis, chronic illness, and the physical stress of a hip replacement can tank natural testosterone significantly. If your levels are low that explains most of what you are describing and TRT would be a legitimate medical option worth discussing with your doctor, not just a performance thing. BPC-157 is interesting for your situation given the hip and joint issues, and it is gentle enough to not stress your system. Low and slow approach.
The right hip - you mentioned it does not bother you much but partial collapse is worth monitoring closely before loading it in the gym. Building the surrounding musculature first is smart thinking.
Have you ever ran and steroids in the past? The first thing especially if you are thinking about doing a cycle or anything is blood work, get a baseline first so like your Testosterone free and total, and ultra sensitive estrogen, lipid panel, CMP, CBCAD.
I have never done steriods. Never needed them, I was satisfied with my body. I do know one blood test my creatine was right on the low line. I have a tilt table heart test on the 19th. What do I need tk ask my doctor then? I know she is waiting on the heart test before she does anything. Good news most thorough doctor I have ever had and she understands me having no quality of life. Tired of sitting in the basement all day. I just got married to a Hiatian and the house I live in now the 2 kids 18 and 20 live upstairs. Love the basement, I have everything but a stove downstairs. Glad I am downstairs they keep upstairs at 84 degrees, a but to much for me. Lol. Just tired of know quality of life and being so inactive and zero energy. If I could just get energy. I am prescribed Adderall and that doesnt really help.
Make sure you get that heart test done before you starting anything and yes always advise your doctor and maybe they can put you on TRT best of luck my friend if you need any further information you can send me a friend request and send me a personal message
^^Yes^^ an you might not want to cycle you would be better off doing TRT if for energy and some muscle gain but Aggie nailed it do blood work an after you get a baseline before you start then after you start TRT since it's your first time messing with AAS I would get blood work done every 3 months so you can get everything dialed in best of luck bud and I hope you accomplish your goals
Thanks! What are your suggestions on trt after blood testing?
I would go with 150mg a week then get blood work after 6 wks on TRT then go from there but 150mg would put you probably in the high normal range
Depending on what your Test levels are but that could be the energy issue. 200mg of Test a week is a good starting point.
Gainz411Man, the fact that you’re here looking for solutions instead of giving up already says a lot about your mindset. Going from being an athlete with that kind of drive to dealing with chronic fatigue and hip issues is brutal, but I honestly think your comeback story is going to be inspirational if you stay consistent.
First thing I’d focus on is increasing protein intake. 60g a day is way too low for rebuilding muscle, especially with everything your body has been through. I’d aim for at least around .75g of protein per pound of bodyweight to start, and eventually closer to 1g per pound if tolerated well.
Don’t worry about trying to do everything fast right away. Build the foundation first:
• More protein
• More total calories
• Light consistent movement
• Gradual strength training
• Recovery and sleep
The good news is muscle memory is real. Your body remembers being strong and athletic before. Progress may feel slow at first, but small consistent improvements stack up fast over months.
Also awesome to see you taking the step toward getting a gym membership and asking for advice instead of isolating yourself. That mindset alone puts you ahead of a lot of people. Wishing you a strong comeback brother.

I should of explained better. I added 60g of protien powder to my diet.
That comment was so good, you had to post it twice hahah
Gainz411Ha!
Lmao
Appreciate that! I need something that increases appetite since I have chronic pancreatitis I go from 140 lbs down to 110 in no time. What is the best thing to increase appetite? I will increase my protein for sure. I definitely have a strong mindset and tired of not being able to do things since I cannot work right now. I will try to walk everyday this week and work on eating more. I general make myself eat once a day. I can go couple weeks without eating when my gerd gets horrible. But have changed what I am eating. They use habonero peppers in everything. I love spicy foods but cant tolerate them well. We are on a budget. I will get food stamps and will get 300 dollars. It covers protein powder so getting 2 things of that to cover the month. That is say 60 dollars. So I will have 240 left for food so what would you suggest?
I cant stand eggs, I will not eat them in anyway. So that definitely does not help with eating.
