+ 1 Currently on Private Clinic TRT / thinking of first cycle.
Hello all,
Quick info. I've been on TRT for a little over 4 months via a private clinic. I'm currently on sustanon at 0.22ml x3 injections a week. Also taking HCG along side that. I had my first 3 months of blood results & all is looking good but wasn't really feeling any different, I had been on x2 injections a week at 0.28ml. My Test scores after the first 3 months were
Free test - 0.849 & test 31.2.
My ranges before deciding to jump on were not bad ....it was just things like Low mood, enthusiasm, brain fog. No problems with libido & function. I'm 44, in good health (besides the usual 44 year old aches) & thinking of dipping my toe on a mild cycle.
My question is, as I'm on private TRT will running a cycle really be worth it? Obviously I'll continue to take the prescription for test but a couple lads I know using test are using much higher doses, so would a mild cycle along what I use now really be worth it? Or do I just need to go it alone if I decide to run a cycle?
Thank you for any help in advance

If your free test is at 849ng/dl, you can build a solid foundation for several months if not years before upping the dose. If you are looking to do a bulk then drop back to your TRT, at your age I would get a blood panel done first, half way through, and afterwards. A lot of things could go wrong, but they probably would not. I wouldn't push it past 500mg of Test per week on your first cycle. You are already at a solid foundation and probably need to:
Eat to grown. It's impossible to build muscles without increasing your food. Protein = muscle recovery and building. Carbs = filling them up with size.
Sleep. 80%+ of your muscle repair and growth happen while you sleep, so it is important to get good quality sleep. If you have sleep apnea or snore, get a CPAP.
I would run with what you got for at least 1 year. Build out a workout program and meal plan and stick too it.
CardioQueenDGood question man -- being on TRT already gives you a steady base, so whether a cycle is “worth it” really depends on your goals. A mild bump might not feel dramatic, but higher doses bring more sides. Definitely weigh the trade-offs carefully.
I was thinking of adding in a mild oral to go along with the test I'm already on but I'm unsure if that's possible as I'm on prescription levels.
Would like to put a bit more size on--
A mild oral with .66mg a week of sustanon isnt going to do much. Also do they test you. If you go in with higher numbers wont they lower your dose/prescription even lower? I would say make a choice, TRT or do a real cycle thats going to be worth it
Yep bloods every 3 months...after the next round of bloods if it looks as good as last round it'll be 6 months then after that it'll be yearly. I'd probably have to disclose what I have been taking to the Dr.
I have really zero knowledge of performance enhancing even though I've been in the gym for a long time. Competed at decent levels but as I'm older I kinda thought I may try one time.
Maybe I'll stick to what I'm doing.
Thanks for the comments
Just remember, not all clinicians condone taking an unprescribed injectable or oral. So tread carefully on how much you trust to tell him. Or wait till its yearly bloodwork to give to time to bring down your blood levels before you test. It may be different where you are at but where i live its stricter
Not a great idea to add oral steroids on trt dose test. If you want to run a first cycle then up your test to 500mgs a week for 16 weeks.
