On my first cycle and noticed my rbc getting towards the high end at 8 weeks. . Always hated needles but got to rather enjoy them now that I’m 16 weeks in. Wanted to donate blood 2 weeks ago and they wouldn’t let me for various reasons blah blah. Can I just order the gauge needle they use and put it in my vessel my self and measure off an approx amount of blood in a cup. Seems easier, would it flow fine? I don’t think there easy to damage? My veins are huge and the vessel is right there easy to hit.

i went to donate blood and they almost turned me away for having hemoglobin that was too high, they took a second test of hemoglobin and decided to allow me to remove blood.
i was so relieved because I had been getting severe side effects from the polycythemia my hemoglobin was 18.3 and I had tingling in my arms and feet and confusion
at what hemoglobin or hematocrit do you guys decide to remove blood? i find anything over 18.5 unbearable
I can't in good conscious recommend doing this if you don't know what you're doing. With that said, it's doable. I would be more concerned about you Hematocrit (HCT) than your RBCs alone though.
BJJ UNIVERSEMy friend once drained blood directly into a shaker, but I advise you to just find a nurse at some private clinic and pay her some money. I've been doing this since 2017.
Before the procedure begins, it is better to administer 0.5 liters of NaCl intravenously and then proceed to phlebotomy.

I would not advise you to attempt that yourself. If they won't let you donate, you can always have a therapeutic blood draw.
