Advice needed please
Just posted for the first time in introductions, but to give some background and my goals I’ll explain here.
I’m 57, and from U.K.
I’ve weight trained off and on since I was in my 20’s but never fully committed or motivated. I’m lucky that I’ve never carried excess weight, but recently I noticed I was developing what can only be described as a dad bod, life has also been pretty shit over the last few years, a very traumatic and tragic bereavement has put massive strain on my marriage, and I found myself spiralling into a dark mental place.
After some internet research, I came to the conclusion I was suffering low testosterone . I know a gym owner personally who I knew would be able to supply test to me. I must add that at this point I didn’t care about side effects or getting blood test done, I figured what ever the outcome of injecting test, it couldn’t be as bad as where I was at psychologically.
So start of September, I joined a gym and started injecting twice a week , 1ml of 250mg on a Wednesday and a Saturday. I’m still on the same dose now and managing at least 4 gym sessions per week.
I’ve had zero side effects and I’m now motivated and lost the depression. I’ve also cut out as much of crap foods as possible, my diet was never terrible but I often used to snack on chocolate, I’ve cut down on sugary stuff and also drinking 2 protein shakes per day.
I’ve visibly lost fat and increased muscle mass, but I need advice on moving forward.
Is it safe to stay on 500mg per week or should I down the dose for a while?
Another question is , I’m now a bit panicky about my sourcing of test, if the guy I’ve been buying it off can’t get any. I see there are various sites with reviews on here, but I was led to believe it’s not legal to obtain it via the post ( read that on .gov site). So how safe is it to order online ?

100% should’ve gotten bloodwork before starting, but you cannot change the past. What you can do is start doing this in the absolute safest way possible.
I would get bloods right now, and honestly go to a clinic or even online provider if that’s an option. I’m assuming you’re planning on trt for the rest of your life and not doing a PCT. These are the risks and big choices you have to weigh and think about when you decide to jump into a cycle brother!
Yes i realised before i started that its a lifetime commitment, im ok with that, hence why id like the security of knowing im not reliant on one source.
Im not sure where to turn to , to get bloods done, is there a recommendation you can give for that.
Thanks for the reply, appreciated.
Hi buddy and welcome the the asylum, I’m the same as press1 I get my blood work done by my doctor regularly. If you’re honest with your doctor then they can be very helpful and will run regular blood panels for you. Hormone panel you can get them to do but will take some convincing and they won’t run them very often. There’s a couple of good places that you can get hormone panels run regularly for around £100. Hit me up in a private message and will guide you through what to say to your doc to get everything checked at least once or twice free of charge on the good old NHS
I honestly do not know about the U.K.
U.S. here.
I would think there’s private corporations similar to here where you can order what you want, but I would also saying working with an endo or urologist is better especially for longevity and initially learning your body/health.
There is plenty of great places but we cannot mention on open forums. There’s some great members here that are on your side of the pond and I’m sure they’d happily give recommendations!
@press1 @Stokes500
I get my Bloodwork done at my Doctors, I think the Stokesenator does too but he may know of places. They all pop up on a search but are mainly based in the Cities.
Only bloodwork will tell if your being safen especially at an older age. But 500mg is pretty standard.
Edit: It's pretty standard to blast for a time. Not stay on indefinitely. Thought I should clarify.
