Atkins and IGF-1

Hey comm,
any opinions on atkins-diet + IGF-1? Friend of mine wants to do that but that sounds pretty deadly to me.
What do my brothers and sisters think?

Any diet that says all you can eat is bacon is o.k in my book.
Probably not real good for the cholesterol though.
Sure man, but what about the effects of IGF-1 on the blood sugar when it's already constantly low?
