What size Vial...?

ad

I am just starting TRT however I have friends who have been doing so for years. I was lucky enough to never need it until much older. My question is that I do remember when their prescription would be filled for a 10ml bottle. My doctor set me up with these tiny 1ml vials and only does 4 vials per script. I am to use 1/2 cc weekly for the 100mg weekly dosage.

When I spoke with some older friends they all say they also now have these tiny 1ml vials. Is this some type of new regulation or do some doctors still prescribe the 10ml vial? I originally wanted to do bloodwork twice yearly however looks like my doc wants it to be quarterly. Anyway is the 10ml prescribed vial a thing of the past or do some still get the 10ml vials.

Maybe it is designed to force the patient to visit the doctor more often however I was curious if I should even ask my doctor if it was an option.

They did the same for my 47 yr old buddy.. It was baby steps.. First they administered the shots, after he did so many bloodworks and doc visits, they eventually let him have 1ml vials. Then they turned him loose with 10ml vials. Of coarse he then abused his dosages, they worked with him for a little after that, dropped him, and now he goes to a men's clinic.. lol

Bingo^^^^^^^^

The pharmacists will say that a 10cc vial is only good for 28 days(ie the rest cant be used after 4 weeks). Basically, I talk to the pharmacists if I have issues.

technically this is "common medical practice" that anything open should be thrown away after 4 weeks.

However most TRT clinics give the 10ml bottle which lasts patients up to 3 months and I cant imagine that the entire TRT community is putting themselves at risk for infection at the doctors orders.

SMDH, is that an acronym for "shaking my dick head"????? Lol

I assumed it was most likely something to increase office visits and get more co-pays from patients. It does not concern me much I was simply curious as most of the sources I researched offer 10ml bottles and some have even larger.

I was looking around here after I posted this thread and did read where most pharmacists say it is not usable after a short time. This is kind of weird as I think my expiration date is something like a year from now.

In your case that might be part of it, driving up the office visits to increase revenue. 10 ml vials are basically being fazed out from the pharmacy, due to the reason Halsey stated, the CDC recommendation is 28 day life after the vial is tapped. I just got my script refilled for the full 12 weeks and they gave it to me all at once. 6 200mg 1 ml vials for 100 mg per week. So that is now possible, where I got just 1 month at a time before that.

Occasionally instead of one 10ml vial they will give me 10-1ml ampules. Which is basically 15 weeks for me.
