New member saying hello
Thank you for the membership and I must say I have been lurking here for months. I am a 52 year old male just starting TRT through a doctor. My levels were naturally high (750's) until the 50th birthday then they dropped very quickly over the last two years to a level currently of 180.
My doctor simply refuses to prescribe anything over 100mg weekly and while it is helpful that simply does nothing to make me actually feel better. I have always been naturally muscular and at my age still show pretty well. Very vascular with old man strength however I do believe cruising on 250mg weekly would do wonders for my goals.
I found this site researching testosterone usage and I have much to read up on. Anyway i wanted so say hello and thanks again for the easy account set up.

LindsayJackson yes I was very lucky to go so long with natural production so high. I first started to notice a change in my sleep. I simply never did feel like I had slept enough and had no life drive if that makes any sense. I did not want to do anything at all even the things I once enjoyed. No more fishing, no camping, no training, just waking up to get dressed was a pain.
I am now reading through this site and see many others with the same issues. I do believe I will do better in time with TRT however there is so much more involved than I ever knew. I am now looking through all my old bloodwork and believe some of my problems are simply from not moving enough oxygen. I now think sleep apnea could be some of my problems as my hematocrit levels have been slowly rising even as my test levels dropped. I am also usually dehydrated even though I never feel thirsty. I am hoping that better sleep and upping my fluids will balance out everything.
I now kind of worry about keeping my blood thickness in check as I have read that common problems of TRT is elevated hematocrit levels. I always thought that was for people who used larger dosages of testosterone however now see that it often applies to people on lower doses as well. I now know that poor sleep, dehydration, and TRT is a disaster waiting to happen. Lots of changes to make and I have learned all of it from this website. I originally thought this was a place for a bunch of muscle freaks that had limited positive information.....I was highly mistaken as I have found some very educated people with solid advice here.
AnonHigh 7 hondos until 50. Legit. I shut down early 40's.
Tonyb121985Welcome to the site bro. I feel you, my levels have been that low for years ask I still couldn’t find a doctor to give HRT. I was considering going to one of those out of state clinical but the price is so expansive, it is Financially viable to self medicate instead. I do not know why TRT is so taboo in my area. Seems like they only take care of children with hormone deficiencies and the adults are left to fend for themselves.
I have been doing bloodwork twice yearly for years now with no steroid usage at all. I have just started the 100mg so for now I have no idea what my levels are at while on 100mg. It was a 2 year process of declining levels and my doctor would not prescribe anything until I went under the 200 mark. From 50 to the age of 51 I dropped from high the upper 700's down to 420 within a year. Then this last year I continued until under 200.
The blood work was due to long running sleep apnea and my hematocrit levels were high due to poor oxygen during sleep. While testing for fatigue my doctor noticed the rapid drop in testosterone while looking over my usual bloodwork results. He first wanted to try this horrible cream and I simply refused. Then he wanted to try 3/4th of one ml weekly for .75mg weekly. I talked him into just doing one vial weekly as this is much easier. When I do get my first results on 100mg I will post the results.
After reading all night I see I first have to figure out bitcoin. I have no idea as to bitcoin however it looks like this is what most are using.
welcome brotha. just like the other guys are sayin, if you wouldn't mind sharing some of your lab numbers with us. lots of very knowledgeable people here. 100 weekly is pretty cookie cutter nowadays. for TRT, personally, I wouldnt do 250 weekly without some kind of doc supervision and regular ongoing labs. otherwise it could be more of a spread out blast than a cruise lol
Welcome to the site brother.... There's alot of guys here very knowledgeable about the trt process.. Be careful because running gear at 250mg per week can still put a stress on ur body. Especiallyrunning it as a hormone therapy. Not to mention ugl gear can be overdosed... Anyway, glad ur here.
Can u tell us where ur level is at 100mg per wk??
What are your levels at 100mg weekly??
Sorry but I posted the below reply attached to my original post above. Forgive me as I am still learning forum posting procedures. I hope it is ok to simply copy and paste it here so so that it will be in the correct order.....

Welcome, and listen..
Your doc is helping you, starting with a low dose, and doing it weekly, which is already better than most docs would do with a higher dose and doing it once every 2 weeks.
Like Halsey said, TRT takes time, and your doc is going to help you to get you dailed in.
And no, you don't have to figure out the bitcoin part, and start doing things that you will regret later, stick with your doc and the meds he prescribes for you.
Also, keep us posted.
TRTdude i believe you are correct and I am basing my concerns mostly on what I have read on forums. I am naturally muscular and happy with my "look" for my age. I have no interest with ever competing or being the most muscular older guy in the room. I can actually feel a huge difference in my day to day life after my test levels suddenly sank and I want to try to feel as good as possible. My doc said most people slowly decline and do not notice it as much. He said someone like myself with naturally high levels at my age will usually have a sudden drop and as such feel it much worse.
If 100mg weekly can return me to my normal I am all for it however it seems many say that closer to 200mg is safe and tolerated well for optimal levels. Of course this is info from various bodybuilding sites and yes I understand lots of bodybuilders will say more is better. I remember in my mid 40's having levels naturally in the high 700s and that is when i was feeling my best.
Is it possible for 100mg weekly to get me from the 160's to say 750? If so I will be happy with that as again I am simply trying to maintain. It is weird for me as I have kept most of my natural muscle with the only effect being severe fatigue and zero life drive....just kind of a hazy lazy feeling. I am very lucky with genetics as I still look like a bodybuilder and still train often however much less than when I was 25. Thanks for the input and I will keep you posted after my next bloodwork.
Some people pin 70mg a week and get their levels to the higher end of the reference range, others might need 150mg a week for example. Everybody reacts differently, so what you read online about others, does not mean it will work for you...
And TRT is not only about numbers, you also need to feel good, and not getting side effects. This takes time to evaluate, and that is what you are going to with your doc..
Also remember the drugs you'll get from your pharmacy is always better, because you are 100% sure what's in it and dosed the way it should be.
Keep us posted man, it's good to have you here!
I would have patience, dont put the cart infront of the horse. Trt takes a good 8 weeks to hit homeostasis. Then your doc could adjust based off your blood/symptoms.
