Trt/ Anti Depressants

ad

Other than my introduction this will be my first forums post and it is long over due. So much good reading on here from previous members experience. You can eat up an entire week or month just reading. So much information here.
I myself was thrown into unfamiliar waters a little over a year ago when I became single again after a 20 year marriage. Let me tell you my older friends, nothing will wake you up more than this. Lol
I was already on TRT from my Dr but my insurance had changed so I was using Eroids to get me by. Which worked well. My Dr prescribed me Celexa 20mg once everyday because I told him I was stressed out. I continued taking my dose of Sust 350 once every 10 to 12 days. This was an unusual feeling. I was able to workout as with a lot of energy but yet my sex drive did not climb that much. I had good work outs and hard ons at night when I slept but it was still hard to have an orgasm. Which is normal with taking Celexa. I switched to 10mg a day and got my orgasms back and kept my energy for workouts. Plus I don't feel as stressed. Anyone else have experience with this???

Personally, I believe anti-depressants are meant to chemically castrate men. Several, if not all of them, raise prolactin to terrible levels and also have been known to tank natural test levels even in young men. I too was married for 20 years and am now divorced. Even though it was hell the first year, after 5 years now I say thank god. Just not having to spend holidays with my ex's fucked up family is worth the divorce alone. I dropped my testosterone from 140mg per week to 100mg per week and added 100mg of deca to my hrt. It is working much better than the test only was. I feel 20 years younger now. When I wake up I don't feel the age anymore as I get out of bed. I am also going to take 5mg of cialis per day to lower my bp and increase the pumps in the gym. I haven't started it yet but I hear good things about it. I realize that I will have to stay on the deca or feel old again and I am good with that. take care.

It is already mentioned below but wellbutrin is often used either to augment an ssri or in lieu of an ssri in people who are prone to the adverse reaction of inability to achieve orgasm. Interesting enough SSRIs are often prescribed to other pts to delay ejaculation so they can have sex longer lol. I suppose it is all relative to personal experiences, preferences, etc... Ive also known many people onn SSRIs that habe never had any sexual side effects. Stimulants also can cause these problems but thats probably another post altogether, good news is your on a low dose so quitting will be easy and you shouldn’t need a taper.

I use welbutrin and no sides.

Yeah man I know that feeling. Hopefully you won't need SSRIs anymore like myself. tRT fixed everything for me. It's funny how people can get shoved down their throats meds that are more harmful rather than prescribed test to normalize ones body. Be careful with doing the sust once every 10-12 days that will cause a lot of peaks and valleys in your estrogen and test levels. I do my trt shots twice a week and it made a world of a difference.

Thank you GZ. I'm planning on being off of the SSI by July. I'm increasing my Test now and already feel a huge difference. Funny how the Dr thinks the SSIs are the solution..

Common side effect of SSRIs and is typically dose dependent. Cutting in half is the right call, as long as stress/anxiety is controlled. Ginkgo Biloba 240mg twice daily has also been shown to be effective to help with this.

Thank you for the quick response. I'm going to slowly get off the Celexa and I will look into the Ginkgo Biloba.

Ginkgo is only needed while taking SSRIs and experiencing Erectile Dysfunction or anorgasmia.

If you get off the celexa and still have the issue two weeks later it’s probably stress related not med related

What is the fundamental reason for the stress.

Thank you Bill. Going from 2 incomes to 1 and still making it all work. Got into the same ol routine day after day along with the usual issues in your mid 40s.

Times are times fir sure.

One of the tools I use for stress and anxiety is a thorough inventory.
I find when I can put something on paper and really look at it for what it is it takes its power away from it.

Never did benzos but I guess I can relate because once I stopped the SSRIs I wasn't drowsy or lethargic anymore. Felt like a fog was lifted off of me. Nice job man.
