TRT and water retention

ad

Has anyone who is on TRT experienced water retention? if so location on body ie: legs, face? and how did you deal with it? Aromasin? Arimidex? dosages?
My Dr says water retention in legs (knees to ankles) but not ankles, is not due to my recent TRT therapy. Did bloods for me but was not even smart enough to check E level, just Test. Why are doctors so stupid?

The first sign of T overdose is edema of the feet.

T converts to E2 and then agonizes aldosterone receptors. Aldosterone is one of the primary mineral corticoids. It causes sodium retention that results in edema via the osmotic process.

Lower E2 and increase SHBG by:

  1. Limiting alcohol and coffee;
  2. Wearing loose britches and pants;

if 1 and 2 don't work, then

  1. Add 0.5 arimidex 2-3 times per week.

Be careful though as E2 stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system (increases energy) and libido. If you go overboard you will feel tired and asexual.

Thanks. I tried to explain all that to dr. funny he has te degree but knows nothing on how that occurrs. He said he only prescribed arimidex when people are on TRT and it doe not increase their test level, not to supress E2 conversion...........I have started arimidex it totally cleared that up. I need to back down I think iwas taking too much. erections not staying hard.......no wood in the AM. I stopped for 4 days now back to norm. will go back but do 12.5mg E3D.
thanks

My Doc prescribes .25mg of Arimidex (Anastrozole) EOD/E3D as needed.

It's not my General Physician, although he prescribes Testosterone. It's my HRT doctor. Whole different knowledge of Hormonal Therapy. It like going to a Contract Attorney when you on trial for murder. All Doctors are not the same.

my fam dr ref me to urologist for TRT, since I wanted injections. He said he only does gel. At least he was honest and said he didnt know about shots. Urologist said water retention is not related to TRT b/c ultrasound of legs was good and Test level is in range..........wtf. NOw back to Fam Dr to try and get prob solved. what a load of BS

Have him check your estro level through bloodwork. If not, switch Docs. I learned my lesson with these Docs many many years ago. Had one Doc cost me 3gs for gyno surgery because he would not prescribe me nolvadex..

www's picture

he had me do bloods again, running a bunch of tests, would not do estro level. said its not that........hes a dumbass. my test was 1048 4 days after my 200mg Test C shot. Im sure it estro related. Im starting myself on Aromasin. I cant deal with this retention. Calves are rocks, can't do cardio they pump and its actually hurts doing treadmill.

Wow. You know you can request the estro test. How's your BP? Most Docs that prescribe the Test C 200mg every two weeks usually won't prescribe any anti-estro. It would seem two weeks would give your test a rollar coaster ride even with it being a long ester. Print out some info from the Internet and educate him. I get my HRT from a clinic. Insurance doesn't cover it but I get more knowledgable treatment IMO.

im following his biweekly for now, plan on doing weekly after Im donoe with this issue and he doent need any more bloods to see if that a good dose for me. Im just gonna go ahead with the aro I have and start solving this myself.

I see your 40 on your STATS. You are eligible for HRT. I pay out of pocket. It can be expensive but worth it IMO. I just got prescribed 100mg Propionate. First time ever using Prop. Increased energy, labido and I seem to be losing body fat which when I do Test E I normally retain some water. 1cc E3D. I'm liking it better than the Test E at the moment.

What were you using prior? I have used test p in the past for cycles and 2 weeks ago began trt using test c. I appreciate it if you could let me know the differences you are experiencing between the two tests. Thanks..

I've been a Sustanon/EQ or Test E/EQ guy for years. The difference is just the esters. I havnt had experience with Prop until now. It's just a quicker acting ester. Results are quicker plus I'm not experiencing any water retention and my labido is way up.

.25 E3D but you need to find what works for you.... Start at a low dose, then get some labs, and see where you are at....
