I was on testopel for a good year to two years. I love the convenience of not having to worry about gels or shots. My estrogen was under control and never above 35. Even toward the third month my testosterone would be in the high 7- 800s. The only problem I did not like was severe testicular shrinkage. And the very first month on the pellets your testosterone levels without a doubt are going to skyrocket. So for the first month you feel like an animal but then it slowly tapers off.

The biggest downfall of the pellets was the pain. For two weeks after they are implanted I was limping. I couldn't sit or sleep on the side the pellets were inserted. Getting in and out of the car was another adventure. And yes it does leave small scars on your hip or glutes where they are inserted. I have several permanent small scars. It's minor office surgery. Im on two shots a week now and I'm considering going back to the gels or Testim. I just felt more steady and happier on Testim. The pellets are very convenient as I said but I can't submit myself to the scarring, the pain and getting cut every 3 months.

I have read a bit on this subject, seems most patients are pretty happy. T readings are very high on the scale. Last about a month and you need a new implant.

From what I remember it is a slow release testosterone pellet that gets injected under the skin and provides a sustained release. But it is a painful injection and scars the skin.

Females used pellets under their underarms for birth control. I think a shot would hurt less.
